This game is a blast from start to finish. The mix of classic and modern Sonic levels feels smooth, and Shadow's new missions add real replay value. As far as Switch 2 ports have gone I do think this might be a little lazy in a couple of areas. The main game 'Sonic Generations' itself runs pretty well at 1080p 60fps, if you haven't played it before the entire game is here and it's a blast to run through, but if you've played it already there isn't anything different. It's a great game. Shadow Generations itself is really good, straight up fantastic to bring a darker contrast to the main game. I wish we could've just gotten this as a separate DLC for the OG game as I'm sure it wouldn't have been too different, but it did upsell me. I did wish it was longer as 4 hours you can beat this and still grab most of the collectibles. With 'Shadow Generations' being on Switch 2 I thought for sure it was gonna be 1080p 60fps however it's only 1080p 30fps or 720 60fps so if you have anything higher than a 1080p tv this is gonna be a big, BIG con. I still use a 1080p monitor to play games so for me it wasn't a big deal, but Sega could've pushed the hardware if they actually wanted to. The other big con with this is that it's a key card. When you buy a physical game you want the data to actually be on the cart, but even most games on Ps4/5 or Xbox One/Series don't really contain data anymore so it's not too different, but still. I actually did end up receiving the 'Day One' edition as well which is cool as it gives you a portion of Dr. Eggman's notebook, really cool addition. Overall if you don't have any other way of playing the game other than Switch 2 and you can grab it on one of the regular 24.99 deals then the Switch 2 version isn't a terrible way to experience the game at all, but be aware that there are a couple of cons even so.
