At the end of my bed sits a window in line sight of my red bird feeder, where morning doves and cardinals feast as I sit on the Songmics ottoman. The material feels like a well-worn cowhide when I slide my hand casually up and down its ink-black material. The tubular frame, sturdy and pleasing with its iconic rectangular prism form a good size to slide baskets under for shoes and night clothes. The small removable shelf allows a place for the next day’s clothes or early morning coffee and croissant while watching the morning doves flit from tree to bird feeder. The shelf can be taken to the kitchen as a serving tray to bring breakfast to the ottoman spot. Later, when dressing, you can place it on the ground and use it as a footstool to polish your shoes or tie them easily. Flip the shelving over, and you can put a journal or a favorite book for later use and retrieval with the side upward. You can drape a book on the last page you read. A well-thought-out piece of furniture extremely functional for those things that are personal and necessary. Assembly required and instructions picture-based. Precision apparent in its correlation of holes for the screws, and the vertices all line up well. The cushion with the rigid backing simply sits on the rectangular prism form. Can be retrieved and moved to a shelter room during a tornado for sitting or coverage, knowing it can take 660 pounds with that tubular frame. Red Ribbon is for awareness of the essential parts of assembly on the package and is a considerate touch.

This ottoman bench looks perfect at the end of our bed. It was so simple to put together by myself in less than 10 minutes. The result is a sturdy, versatile bench. I like the removable tray that fits just right on the cushiony top. My husband loves that it is the perfect size to sit and put his shoes on comfortably in the morning. We both like that we can put our laundry baskets on it while folding clothes. This bench would also work beautifully in an entryway, to store shoes under and use when walking in and out of our front door. It would also work well as a coffee table or ottoman in front of our couch. The cushiony side for putting up our feet, with the tray for placing items. Or simply flip the top for a full coffee table top. This versatile piece of furniture is an excellent value. I'm very pleased with it.

This is a nice looking bench chair. Great for living spaces or walkways. Was easy to install with a few screws. Only the legs attach to the frame. The bench cushion has a board underneath that helps it sit flush into the bench frame so it doesn't easily shift or fall off. Cushion feel soft and comfortable but doubt it would be good for long-term sitting. The tray arrived with some corner damage and is pre-assembled. The tray feels cheap laminate wood and just sits onto the bench. If not careful, tray can easily slide off plus it's not flush with the bench. Overall, nice bench that's more for light sitting and looks than comfort.

This was very simple to put together. It only took 52min from unboxing to completion and that's because I'm a little OCD and had to line everything up just right, lol. The frame is pretty sturdy once it's put together and the bottom bars have rubber feet to keep the bench from scratching the floor or moving out of position. I feel comfortable sitting on it to put my shoes on or put lotion on after bathing, etc. Covered in soft, faux leather, the cushion is pleasant to sit on because it's...well, cushiony, lol. I do wish that the tray either attached to the bench or sat recessed in the bench a bit to prevent it from moving. Instead, it sits on top of the table portion of the bench and may slide off if the bench is moved abruptly, or if I accidentally knock it of when manipulating the covers during the night. But that's a small thing for such a nice unit. My only dilemma is whether I like it best in the hallway or in the bedroom.... ALICIA APPROVED.

This ottoman came well packaged and required only minimum assembly. The instructions were straight forward and I was able to put it together by myself in a very short period of time without any additional tools. Everything fit together just right and it is a sturdy piece of furniture. I decided to have the cushioned side upwards and use the included sliding shelf, to hold a drink, the TV remote and my glasses, as I like to put my feet up while I am watching TV. Alternatively you can have the wooden side upwards if you would rather use it more as a coffee table. Either way, it is perfect. I love how versatile this piece is which makes it really good value for money.

I browsed for dining table bench & Amazon suggested this. I bought it but it's really low. Now I can't use it for my dining table. I just can't return it as I have to unassemble it & pack it which will ruin the bench & takes up my time if it know where to use it. Such a waste of time. Wish Amazon was careful & suggest items that a customer is looking for not just some bench.

This ottoman/bench appears a little larger in the pictures than the actual size, so you need to take that into consideration. It’s decent enough as long as you’re not expecting it to be larger than it is. The construction of it is not super sturdy, the way they’ve designed the connecting points and their fasteners. It looks nice and gives good function. I’m currently using it by our front door on the wall where we have our coat hooks. The seat cushion is nice and it feels like a good combination of sturdy and cushy. But the box end of it is puzzling: the box is separate and just sits on a flat shelf with nothing holding it in place, so it just slides around freely. That seems like a major oversight, and I wish was different. Putting it together was easy enough, took me about 15-20 minutes by myself, so it was very straightforward. Like I said, it’s a decent bench, very middle of the road.
