4 stars only because it was a difficult build; instructions are fine but so many ‘pre-drilled’ holes were just not pre-drilled. Took two 6 hours to assemble with an electric drill. At times wondered if this was something other than wood due to difficulty drilling into it. Quality is good. Seems sturdy. Will work great in my small kitchen/dining area. I have been trying to find a dinette solution to this corner in my small house for 12 years and this L bench solved my dilemma. It gives my family a perfect spot to have dinner, do homework, work on our lap top, and throw our shoes when we enter the house. Do yourself a favor and use a power drill when assembling. It took me two hours with a power drill. If you use a screwdriver it will take twice as long. Directions could be better, just take your time and pay attention to each drawing. Like most reviews mention, it’s quite the ordeal to put together, but personally I think it was worth the effort! It does need at least two people towards the end of assembly. For what this piece costs, the quality is acceptable, but the assembly process is extremely difficult. I spent probably 5 or 6 hours over the course of a week putting this together. There are at least 4 dozen screws I had to muscle in because there were no pre drilled holes and some of these screws simply wouldn’t screw in completely. The result is that the connecting pieces are not flush. The manufacturer could do a better job of pre assembling some of the pieces to make it easier on the buyer, or at adding pre drilled holes throughout. I like the look of the piece, but I would never sign up for this job again. ... show more

I am going to add my own touches. Like I will connect the two and incorporate the middle piece into a short bench to accommodate my space. I will make it my own. I read as many reviews before I settled on this item. I was nervous because one person said it took an extremely long time to complete and then there was one who said it did not take long. I have not revamped it yet but it does not take long to assemble at all. Some say it’s all wood? I don’t think that is wholly correct. I hope it will be comfortable ... show more
