I now own two of these. The first is 6 years old, still works. Starting to get ricketey... I handled it rough over the years. This is it's replacement. Can melt thin aluminum with these. Cut a soda can in half. Etc. Solder, light brazing, heat shrink, no problems. Flame is about 6 inches long (visibly) on high setting. If you're using this for.... say... heating glass to add a wax substance... (cough) This is 1000% percent what you're looking for... 😆 Doesn't burn through fuel quickly, even on high setting. Haven't had problems with soot or ignition. This torch is well worth the money. I have no regrets with this or the previous purchase. Very pleased.

The first one leaked gas. The replacement has functional issues (the locking mechanism has stopped working after 6 months). This thing it cheaply made. Purchase something else.

Great quality. Very bulky as a pipe lighter, but great flame. A bit hi velocity for cigars &, cigarettes... I had to tape the flame adjust bar because I hit it and move it inadvertently during use at times as such. Very nice hobby & bench torch. I will be testing with various materials - solders, metals, heat shrink, etc. Fills very fast, and lasts. Not easy to see gas level, but you know when it goes low, you need to fill it. All in all I love it.

I purchased this torch after watching a “Project Farm” review of it versus 15 or so other similar products. It has not disappointed. Works well, easy to adjust the flame without needing a second hand or to shift my hand position. And it hasn’t leaked! That in and of itself distinguishes this torch from many other butane devices. Photos show the torch at its lowest and highest settings.

This is personal preference but for making creme brulee I'd like a little more powerful torch. There is a food service type that mounts to the top of a can -- those are quite a bit more powerful than this type.
