    • This is my favorite briefcase! (I own four!)
I own four of these -- each one holding a specific piece of gear along with all the ancillary items necessary. This most recent purchase was because I had bought a mini-PC, a drawing tablet that runs from the HDMI and USB ports, a portable battery pack. It all fits very nicely in this New York Urban Carrying Bag! I've got the drawing tablet (which serves as the video screen for the mini-PC) in a sleeve for protection and that slips perfectly into this briefcase. I also have the portable battery pack to power the mini-PC and drawing screen, the AC unit to power the computer, the AC unit to power the drawing screen (if desired), the AC unit to recharge the portable battery pack which I use to power everything, the extra pen-holder and tips for the drawing screen, a bluetooth keyboard and a bluetooth mouse, any/all desired cables, earbuds, and there's also room in it for documents or how-to books on drawing. In short, this bag holds everything I need/want. It's my go-to tech bag for traveling! I've got another one for my laptop computer and it's ancillary items, a third for a portable music recorder and the microphones and cables necessary, and a fourth which holds musical instrument repair tools and supplies for when I need to go to the place the instruments and repair them on the spot instead of bringing them back to my repair shop. I sometimes think these bags were designed by the same people who made Mary Poppins's traveling bag that she takes so many items out of at the start of the movie!     • Great Do-it-all Laptop Case and Bag: Ideal for Business Travelers!
As a frequent business traveler, I've been looking for a replacement for my leather Mcklein brief which could barely fit my dell XPS 15 and its charger without looking overstuffed. My requirements where: 1. Formal enough for the office and no black nylon 2. Big enough for a laptop, charger, notepad, water bottle and miscellaneous items 3. Ideally converts into a backpack for when I want to free up my hands or walk long distance I'm so glad I found this briefcase on Amazon because I was prepared to shell out WAY more. The grey canvas exterior is classy enough for the office and casual enough to serve as a travel backpack. It stands out against the black leather and nylon bags that everyone uses. I've gotten complements on it's look as well as "wows" when I turn it into a backpack when we enter the subway. The interior has a padded laptop pocket that fits my laptop and a notepad with room to spare. The main compartment can fit a power brick and even a blanket without looking "stuffed." The smaller side pouch is ideal for a water bottle or small collapsible umbrella, and the larger front zip-pouch can fit any of those things and contains small pockets ideal for cash, cards, and a passport. While I haven't done weekend traveling with it yet, it will easily fit a change of clothing, a light jacket, a camera and other items. I have used the straps and they are surprisingly comfortable. I'm 5 foot 8 in and the height of the bag in backpack mode is just right for me: not too big or too small. While some have complained about the plastic hardware, I think SOLO made the right call. The black plastic is lighter than equivalent metal buckles and goes better with the grey aesthetic. The only thing I wish this bag had was an exterior water bottle pouch, but I get why the went with the enclosed zipper pouches- so when you turn it from a brief into a backpack nothing falls out! Overall I'm very happy with this bag as it's replaced at least 2 bags in my travel inventory: by business briefcase and my regular backpack! ... show more

I bought this bag thinking I could always return it if I didn't like it. I am very picky about my bags and it's sometimes hard to know if it would be right with an online purchase. I will not be returning the bag. I bought the bag for air travel. The laptop bag that came with my work laptop is a backpack and does not have enough pockets. It was the first laptop backpack I've had and I liked the option to use it as a backpack. I am a 40+ executive however so I felt a little strange wearing a backpack in a professional setting. It did come in handy however at the end of a work trip, traveling internationally and having to navigate customs, etc. That's why I liked this bag. It provides the backpack option but also carries like a briefcase. I have zipped both the backpack straps and shoulder strap into the "hidden" compartment and am currently using it as a briefcase. It easily converts. The pockets are well thought out and the design is great. I can carry my laptop and my ipad (different padded compartments). Bring the charging cord and headset-- also in a different compartment, and have enough room to bring a portfolio and documents. It also easily fits under the seat of a regional jet. The material was not what I expected. It's almost like waxed denim. It seems like it will be durable but doesn't look all that professional and it will not replace my everyday briefcase for the office. I normally take a more utilitarian bag for travel since I don't like to scuff the good leather of my briefcase by throwing it under the seat where I could kick it and where things could fall out since it has very few zippers compartments. Item is well construction, has plenty of room for a laptop and accessories and is extremely flexible in how it can be carried. On another PLUS side, Walmart has the same item for $15 MORE, so I saved money buying it on amazon!!
