  • Install instructions
This is a 2 person repair. Refer to my picture with pin numbers. You will need to purchase four 3/8 inch pushnut washers as they are not included and should not be reused. Buy at Amazon or a local auto parts store. Follow these steps to install on a Solera power awning: Tools; something for two people to stand on (ladders, chairs, picnic table, truck bed, cooler etc.), needle nose pliers, screwdriver, hammer, 7/16 socket, duct tape. - Fully extend the awning. - There are 2 snap in/out plastic spacers on each pin at location 3 and 4. Remove these with a screwdriver. Save for future reinstall. - Remove all 4 pushnut washers using either with a needle nose plier, or a screwdriver and hammer. Eye protection is recommended as the pushnut could fly off the pin. You can fashion a duct tape tent to prevent the pushnut from flying off. - Have 1 person hold the end of the awning. - Take note of the orientation of the gas strut. Now remove pins. You may need a hammer and screwdriver to encourage the pin to move. Your helper may need to lift the end of the awning. - Replace the gas strut in the correct orientation by first installing pin 1. Use a 7/16 socket to secure pushnut by pushing by hand while holding the opposite side of the pin. - Next install pin 2 through gas strut. Secure with push nut. - Have your helper lift the end of the awning to align holes for pin 3. Install pin and pushnut. - Have your helper lift the end of the awning to align holes for pin 4. Install pin and pushnut. - Replace the plastic spacers onto pin 3 and 4. Note; Without removing pin 4 (or alternatively the screw between pin 2 and 4), the gas strut needs to be compressed for the install. This would be very difficult ... show more

  • Direct replacement on my 2020 Gray Wolf 22rr
This directly replaced the failed strut on the awning of my 2020 Gray Wolf 22rr. The print wasn't identical, but had the same part number and build as the original. I don't really think the factory should have failed in only a year, but they don't exactly use super high quality parts in these things. ... show more

  • Now The awning acts like new!
I am very pleased with this product , Since there were no instructions included . The first one was somewhat more difficult to install, the second one went like clockwork. I highly recommend This product. If manufacturer could include instructions, it would help .

  • Worth the expense
I was replacing orginal struts on my camper awning, saved quite a bit by buying online vs the dealership. Two people are needed though with one person positioning the awning with the other installing the strut.

  • Perfect fit and easily installed
It was an easy install and works flawlessly. Great fix, dealer wanted almost 200 bucks for the strut and install. I ordered here and had it installed in less than 10 minutes. That is taking off the old arm and installing the new. Great product and will keep their product in mind when I need another strut. ... show more

  • Perfect replacement
These replaced the worn factory Awning struts perfectly. It took me about 15 minutes per strut to remove and replace. My older ones had trouble working in cooler weather. It's been in the low 20s here and these haven't sagged a bit.

  • Less expensive than dealership
When I tried to order this strut through camper dealership it was way more expensive! I was a bit worried it wouldn’t fit but it was perfect. Not too difficult do install awning manufacturer was gracious enough to send instructions.
