This alarm was super easy to set up. I recorded my own words in practically no time. It has lasted over a yr now and has only been charged by the sun. Just bought my second one this week.     • It's EXACTLY what we were looking for, but needs waterproofing
EDIT: My one and only complaint is that the buttons are not waterproofed. There is a LOT of space around each button, which drains directly into the circuit board, so if you live anywhere with sideways rain, be prepared to rig something up to waterproof the case. ORIGINAL REVIEW: This thing is perfect. It is loud, obnoxious, and will startle you even if you know it's there. Solar charging and waterproof case make it worry-free, the ability to record your own sound is a perfect touch, and night-only or 24 hour modes incredibly useful. We have one in the yard facing out to protect the bunnies from coyotes, and one facing the sky to defend against owls. The gunshots are a little TOO realistic, so we record custom barking dog sounds instead. ... show more

Plenty loud to deter anyone from trying to slip by unnoticed day or night! Definitely recommended to keep intruders away. The commotion of gunshots, dogs barking will definitely get attention. Like these so well, purchased additional ones.

    • Could be a lot better if not for one huge flaw
I can’t speak to its charging time, waterproof or sensitivity due to a major flaw that’s kept me from using it. The only built in sound is dogs WITH gunshots. I want to keep feral cats and burglars away not terrify neighbors and have the police out. Really dumb since this can be useful in urban areas too. It does have the ability to record your own sound but I’m having to either find a dog bark long enough or set my own dogs off. And to top it off there is some song recorded on there so I know it’s a returned item. I’m going to keep it since it was so cheap on Prime Day. But simply having a sound option that doesn’t include gunshots would help. It is plenty loud though. ... show more

Item does not work. After reading trouble shooting it appears that I'm missing a sensor. All I received is the unit itself and a charging cord.

I was buying this for motions alarm but this is that and more. It charges with a wall charger but then you mount it in the sun. Its solar charges. I started with my voice as low as could warning of a restricted area, violator would be prosecuted. My adult daughter recorded a Canadian voice thanking the delivery drivers and telling to take a treat we left out for them. THIS ITEM IS A HOOT. This thing is so loud it would scare off more than critters it would scare off would be burglars. Note: Don't turn it on inside the house to test it if you have inside animals unless you want to disturb your neighbors because that is what I did, lesson learned! 🤷

Loud, like really loud. Ok, I appreciate this one as it actually does suit its purpose. I set this one up away from the neighbors in an area where the coyotes sometimes sneak into where they should not be, and it does do its job and does it quickly and does it well.
