Motion Detection: 5/5 - I have 2 of these currently in my backyard. One is zip-tied to our chain link fence, the other is mounted on the shed. I purchased them so my 2 dogs would have some extra light at night when I let them out, as well as to detect any other animals in the yard as I've also done quite a bit of lawn renovation the last year. Both lights have quite a large range of detection and pick me up from several feet away in all directions. Obviously some of this will be dependent on how and where you have your lights mounted, but in general I think the detection is great. One of my dogs is small >20lbs and he gets picked up generally almost as easily as myself, or our other larger dog. Brightness: 5/5 - The brightness factor on these lights are very impressive. I run both lights on the constant dim / bright when motion is detected, and there is a significant difference between the dim and bright settings. Additionally, the bright setting is QUITE bright and lights up a considerable area around the light. Easy to Install: 5/5 - Very simple install. Top plastic housing of the lights has 2 areas to mount the lights and screw them into a surface. They are also shipped with a paper template to pencil in or map out on the surface first before drilling. As I mentioned, I also zip tied one to a fence and that one has also remained sturdy. Overall: 5/5 - Very pleased with these lights, and have purchased more to add to the backyard to light up my dogs way as they explore the yard at night. I could see these lights having several functional uses in different areas outside. Above a garbage pale area outside, driveway, walking paths, along fencing, etc. I will also note these lights were ready to go the first night OUT OF THE BOX. They sustained a full nights of illuminating the yard and absorbed enough sun the following day for the next night. I think I have only had 1 or 2 nights in the 2 months owning them where they did not stay lit until the morning, and that was in times of virtually no sun for multiple days. We have 4 different brands of these solar powered security lights and these are the best of all of them by far. Brightness and motion defectiveness are great and they stay lit through the night (on low). These have the integrated solar panel, wish they also offered a detached solar panel model for applications that do not get enough sunlight during the day to charge them fully. ... show more

I love this purchase. It makes me feel safer at night. I had to position them in my yard away from trees and shrubs, because when the wind blows them, the motion makes the lights come on. Overall, I'm very satisfied with this product. I will buy two more soon for the sides of my house.

These are great lights. This review is simply a process heads up. Have ordered these 4x to replace all other solars. This is 1st order where one of the four lights quit within a day. I had already recycled the shipping box. All are installed, so I'm choosing to do without that light rather than figuring a way to uninstall all 4, find a box, return. Amazon's default cure us sending a new set. Yet it's not worth the trouble or burning that much time & fuel. Simply a heads up if, by chance, you encounter this as well (& may that not be so). ... show more

Like one of the reviews mentioned, setting is on the back, so once installed it requires some work to switch but otherwise, they work great. Bought four of these about 2 years ago. I have one set to always on dim bright motion and three set to motion only. One is in a more shaded area and one gets a lot more lights. They're all still working great. Haven't had to change batteries yet and the always on one is still staying on all of the night with I'd say the second most amount of sunlight. They do start to burn the coating on the solar side like most long term in the sun but it hasn't seemed to affect the operation. They pick up raccoons and foxes passing nearby, definitely sensitive enough. Going to order some more for around the house. They're actually a little cheaper today with a coupon than I had originally paid on a deal. Definitely worth what I paid considering they're still around and from the same seller. ... show more

They're obviously not as bright as a wired light but they're pretty good for the price. What I find really impressive is the sensitivity of the motion detection ... it's really good. I'm sure I'll be buy more of these lights.
