First, let me say these lights are very pretty glowing in my garden at night. They are glass, so should be durable. Unfortunately, like several other reviewers, one has a short and quit the first night. If you shake it, it lights for a nano second and then goes dark. I guess I'll be returning a set, which is a big pain since I'm 18 miles from the nearest UPS store. If all four had worked, five stars for sure! ... show more

I wanted solar lights I could stand on my deck with no nails or screws. These are perfect! The globes have a flat square base so they stand on their own easily. Each globe also comes with removable stakes so you can put the globes in the ground. They are about the size of a softball, maybe a little bigger, and give off a warm light. I just got them today and was able to put them out right away because they seem to come charged. We will see how they withstand the strong winds that are common where I live here in tornado alley. ORIGINAL: They are smaller and not as bright as I hoped, even charging under the AZ sun, but I don’t regret purchasing them to put on my balcony at night so I don’t wake up neighbors with the obnoxious porch light. I plan to order the set of 4 additional ones and then it’ll be perfect. They really do give a calming ambience outside (or inside if you move them around). They remind me of miniature full moons — quite romantic. UPDATE: less than a week later, I am not sure I love these as much. I noticed tonight that the globes shut off automatically when I turned my porch light on for a few minutes. On previous nights, they still stayed lit and remained that way when full darkness returned (I.e., turned off the porch light again when returning inside). I tried to restart them again at least once by pressing the button and testing, but alas, they shut off and did not restart despite the solar charge. I like the ‘idea’ and they were nice for a few nights, but I’m not sure these will be worth purchasing more of to have a bigger collection after all.
