It is, in fact, a long and high pile shag rug, fibers happens to fall down as per gravity, probably understandably the reason why the vendor has to use hair spray to freeze up the fibers to make look the appearance of a thick rug, but nevertheless, we are happy with the purchase. The color is a lot lighter than the pictures. There is no black on my rug just light and dark grey. The only thing I’ve had problems with is cleaning it, my vacuum doesn’t pick things up off of this rug. I have to shake it to clean it. The rug itself is larger than my California king bed so I love the size. Very comfortable to walk on, sooo soft! I would buy again.

I really like this rug. My only gripe is that it is very hard to vacuum- I've banned shoes from the room it's in to try to cut down on random things being tracked in because seeds/grass/hay (pet bunny)/etc. gets stuck beneath the fibers and the vacuum has to make multiple passes to get it. What's worse is I can feel whatever it is with my bare feet but have to fight with the fur to dig it out by hand if the vacuum can't get it. Make this the rug in the room where people only wear socks or something, because cleaning it is a pain.
