  • Favorite pillow
Size: Standard
I have been using this queen size pillow for past 20 years. It really supports my neck and my head. It is a bit noisy at first when you try to settled into the pillow but my sleep is solid with no neck aches. My big mistake was to buy standard size but not the fault of the manufacturer… I could not remember which size pillow that I bought 20 years ago. ... show more

  • perfect - almost
Size: Queen
Love that this fits in a normal pillowcase. Love that it is supportive but also conforming. I am a side and back sleeper and it easily adjusts with my movements. Only thing I'm not a huge fan of is the smell. It isn't overpowering like some items I have received, but it does have a "natural" smell (assuming its the buckwheat I'm smelling). Best pillow I have found in a long time. ... show more

  • It's smaller than it looks on the picture... but very comfy
Size: Standard
I would wake up every morning with a sore neck. I have a CPAP with a full face mask, so that doesn't help; my head is always a little angled weird because of the mask. A friend recommended I try a buckwheat husk pillow. I was skeptical, but now I don't think I'll ever change. It took me a night or two to get used to the "crunchy" sound it made when I move in my sleep, but the neck support is fantastic. Give it a shake, a fluff or two, and enjoy a nights sleep with good neck support. And because of the material used, I can "punch down" a spot for my CPAP mask. I've had all kinds of pillows... down, memory foam, regular foam, that one that was on TV (For like $150!!!)... this is the first pillow that I can really rest on. My only feedback is that it's smaller than it appears in the picture. Get a bigger one, and you'll be even happier. ... show more

  • Cooling pillow
Size: Standard
This is the best buckwheat pillow out there! If I go out of town, this pillow goes with me. No more sweaty head nights. I also have herniated discs in my neck and THIS pillow is a game changer! I have tried other brands, but always return to Sobikawa

  • Actual pillow was made in the United States
Size: Standard
Actual pillow was made in the United State by Natures Pillow, Inc, located in Langhorne, PA but I don't know if the company is still in business. It actually is 15 x 19 but doesn't seem like it. I had to measure it. I'm disappointed with the size.

  • Best pillow ever!
Size: Standard
I love this pillow! I bought the standard size. I have purchased many pillows over the years and have struggled to find one that would support my head and neck all night long. This little gem does the trick! I just ordered a second one for my husband and I have a feeling my daughter will be asking for one too. It does make a little noise when you move your head. I do find I am sleeping longer and moving less, therefore hearing the sound less. It doesn’t bother me anyway. Waking up without neck and shoulder pain is amazing! ... show more

  • It's different, but that's not bad
Size: Standard
Just be aware that it's different from other pillows. It's not lightweight and fluffy, or even particularly soft--the weight of the Sobakawa might break someone's neck if you used it in a pillow fight. The buckwheat husks provide a firm support, and there's enough space within the pillow to allow you to shape the husks to best fit the contours of your neck and head. I use a small Sobakawa on top of a medium-sized one, which creates a little step that accommodates my shoulder when I want to sleep on my side; I also slide the small pillow forward to line up with the medium one when I want to sleep on my back. But the best thing about Sobakawas, and the reason I've used them for years, is that they do not get hot. At least, the buckwheat husks don't. The cotton case the husks are contained in will hold a little heat as will any pillow case you put it in, but compared to other pillows, the Sobakawa stays much, much cooler, and that makes a big difference in my ability to sleep comfortably. My only real complaint with them is that they've made it nearly impossible for me to sleep on other pillows, and since Sobakawas are pretty heavy and bulky, it's difficult to take them along when I travel, which means I usually sleep pretty poorly in hotels. But I suppose that's true for most people. In any case, I definitely recommend Sobakawa pillows if you're willing to give yourself some time to get used to them. You will end up sleeping better, but they feel different than the pillows most people--most Americans, anyway--use, so there it will likely take at least a few nights to get accustomed to the different feel. But aren't a few night, or even a few weeks, worth it to sleep better and more comfortably in the long term? ... show more
