When the microwave has finished, leave the SnuggleSafe inside for another minute. The non-toxic thermapol compound inside the pad retains heat for up to 10 hours. Do not exceed the recommended heating times. Overheating can damage the SnuggleSafe and may cause injury. Do not allow pets to bite or chew it. Ideal for newborn, convalescing and elderly pets.

Bought this for my new 2 month old kitten who came straight from the mom. I advice putting it under a blanket as it does get warm. But it’s terrific and provides warmth to a new or elderly cat for 10 hours. Kitty goes willingly to bed to sleep on this product!

    • SOLUTION FOR MY STRAY CATS
My order came quickly & just in time for a huge dip in temp. Was worried for my outdoor cats not getting sick. I brought 1 cat inside, My stray 6 mos old cat doesn't want to come inside but will sleep on my small screened lanai.I filled a basket with blankets but that wasn't enough warm for these cold temps as he is little and skinny, no fat for insulation. 1st night I put 2 heating disks under the blanket, 2nd colder night 4 under and all around under a layer of blankets--they are too hard to snuggle against and the blankets help to absorb the heat and keep it much better to snuggle into. I first also put the blankets in the dryer to get them heated to help the overall process of the disks warming the bed. It kept him snuggled all night. I also put some cardboard up on the screens to block the wind, so he had a safer and warmer night. If you have ferral houses, etc, these are great (use blankets).I do animal rescue & have been searching for something that didn't need electricity & portable. I bought 4. ... show more

    • The heat lasts all night!
Before I purchased this, I read the negative reviews. I don't know what those people did, but it does not match my experience. Thank goodness I took a chance. I constantly worry about my outside cats in the below freezing winter weather. This warmer is exactly what they need. After microwaving, I wrap it in 2 fuzzy blankets and it is just the right temperature for them to snuggle on inside their straw lined box. It took a few days for the cats to get used to, so don't give up if they don't fall in love immediately. Well worth the money! Bought for my 3 cats as it gets insanely cold in my room especially as winter is nearing, at night I heat this up and toss it into their kennel bed for my cat who prefers to sleep alone instead of with me like the other 2, and I heat it up again in the morning when I leave so they have a toasty place to hang out while I’m gone, they absolutely love it and I actually need to buy at least one more as they fight over who gets to sleep directly on it!     • Great for travel/trips to vet but doesn't keep hot for the advertised time.
tl;dr - great to keep kittens warm on a trip to the vets, not enough to keep them at temperature over night. Also it's small. You'll probably need more than one. I bought this to use overnight for neonatal kittens. While it's great in concept, it didn't quite do the job. It's smaller than I thought (only about 8 inches - so large enough for one or maybe 2 kittens if the curl up together). And while it does stay warm - it doesn't stay hot or warm enough to keep their crate warm overnight. As time goes on, the heat disseminates as it cools so the kittens were cold after 5-6ish hours. That said, this is perfect for trips to the vet or when they need to go somewhere where you can't plug in a heating pad. It is really hard though, which makes it durable and easy to clean, but not comfortable for the kittens to lay on without a layer of soft blankets. ... show more

I’ve had one of these discs for many years and I ordered a couple more for family moving in with me. Four minutes in the microwave and it keeps my bed warm all night under the covers.
