I’ve owned a few SMS Laser products before, so I’d been looking forward to getting the Trinity for a while. Finally got one in hand, and I have to say, it was worth the wait. It’s definitely not cheap, but the overall quality is hard to complain about. The finish looks great, the body feels solid, and the little details are done really well. I especially like the control layout and the knobs, they feel clean, responsive, and well thought out. Even the included cable feels nice and actually useful, which is something a lot of companies overlook. Overall, really happy with it. You can tell a lot of care went into making this one.

First time buying from SMS Laser and honestly impressed. What got me at first was the look of it. Very clean, aggressive design, lots of nice machining details, and that mechanical style just looks really good. In hand, feels solid. Nice weight, great finish, everything feels tight and well put together. Knobs feel good, cable is actually nice too, not some cheap throw in accessory. Definitely leaves a strong first impression. Would buy from them again.

Great purchase. Well made, great entry level IR/Illuminator for a home defense night vision setup. Laser is clean looking and full power can be unlocked. This is my first IR/Illuminator but this seems like a well made product. Time will tell if it holds zero.

I have been using the SMS HFXC laser and love it. When the SMS Trinity came out, I decided to give it a try since it is similar to the HFXC design minus the flashlight. Like the HFXC, the Trinity is a fully capable laser with all the same night vision technology (IR, IL, and two IRL settings). The workmanship, the anodized aluminum waterproof case, and overall design are excellent. It uses a readily available CR123A battery and comes with a nice small touchpad that only takes up about 1 ¼” of valuable picatinny rail space versus the 3 ½” required for the HFXC touchpad. I haven’t had a chance to put it through any field tests yet but, based on my use of the HFXC, I suspect the Trinity will perform equally well. If you are interested in more hands-on reviews, there are sevearl good ones out there that are in-depth and complete. The SMS Trinity is a great value for the money, and I would stack it up against most of those at two or three times the price. I’m always skeptical of “knock-off” imitators, but this isn’t one of them. It’s just a well-made, well-designed product at a very good price. The green laser is super bright and easy to detect, and the diffuser screen is a nice plus. The controls are straight forward and easy to access via a well-marked dial that clikcks firmly into place at each setting. The Trinity mounts firmly into place on the picatinny rail and the laser lines up perfectly with the bore whenter mounted on top, on the bottom, or on either side. The on/off button is visually and tactilely designed to be easy to find and operate even in darkness. The only minor negative is that the windage and elevation adjustment screws are small and do require a small screwdriver to turn. SMS thought enough to include a tool that works on these screws as well as on the mounting screws for the rail attachment.
