This Perfect One Focus Smooth Cleansing Balm is like a luxury. I’ve actually made this an evening ritual and I look forward to it. I take a nice, hot, relaxing 15 minute bath in the evenings before bed and before getting out I shower off. While I’m relaxing I take a dime size of the product out with a small, clean teaspoon, so as not to get water into the rest of the product and then gliding it over my face feels like rubbing satin in my face. It’s a refreshing, soft lotion/oil feeling product and just glides over my skin. I keep my eyes closed for a few minutes while massaging it in, wait about half a minute and then rinse it with warm water and pat my face dry. The first night I used it I was surprised how it worked I was expecting a black clay mask that dries and makes your skin feel tight and crusty, but the product is solid and almost waxy in the container, but once it hits your face it’s like a soothing oil balm. It just melts into your skin, yet it’s very easy to rinse away and it didn’t leave my face feeling oily or greasy, just clean. In fact soon as I get out of the shower I put on my nightly moisturizer afterwards. The balm has just the lightest rosemary like scent and feels refreshing and cool on the skin, but is extremely gentle. There is no tingling or burning. It’s made in Japan and the container is a bit bigger than 2.6 oz.

The media could not be loaded. I’ve used a number of cleansers and have preferred purchasing K-beauty and J-beauty cleansers the last several years due to how well they work, affordable, and gentle on my skin. I currently still have several balm cleanser I rotate. They work okay, but I’d normally double cleanse whenever I wear sunscreen and heavy makeup and I didn’t have to using this one balm. Perfect One Focus is a great all-in-one cleanser. The directions say cherry size (or about 1 inch), but I use a bit less than dime size and it’s enough for my face and neck. The heat in your hands will melt the balm, and it’s actually more like an oil cleanser than other balms which feels a bit like soft lip balm. As you massage it onto your skin, sunscreen and makeup melt right off. It feels gentle, and the charcoal is so fine there’s no abrasiveness whatsoever-it doesn’t irritate my eyes. There is a slight scent (supposed to smell like rose and orange), but it’s not offensive and is light. When you add water, it will emulsify, and the water turns a cloudy white color as with other oil cleansers/balm cleansers, so make sure to use it while your skin is dry first, otherwise, it doesn’t work as well. I love that this is a flip-top jar instead of a screw-top. I have a few Japanese hand creams that are also in jars with flip-tops and it's much more convenient; no squeezing, no cutting tubes, no waste. This is non-irritating, and my skin feels soft and smooth after cleansing. My face feels a little dry if I don’t use toner or start my skincare within 3 minutes after coming out of the shower but it doesn't feel tight or as drying as my deep cleanser. Definitely worth a try!

This cleansing balm is my first experience with a Japanese cosmetic/skincare item, and I'm impressed. This balm does a great job at removing my makeup, but without making my face feel like it has been stripped of all its moisture. It has a very slight scent; it's supposed to smell like orange and rose, but I honestly can't smell much of anything. The balm's texture is sort of waxy at first, but once you rub it onto your skin it transforms into more of a slightly oily-lotion texture. It sounds strange, but it's actually really nice. You don't need to use very much to get a good cleansing, so this product will last a very long time. If you have sensitive skin, you probably could use this balm with no problems, as it is not abrasive and has no harsh fragrance.

I really like this cleansing balm. It goes on smoothly, easily without dragging on the skin. Only a small amount is needed for coverage. For me, I like to dab a little on different points of the face then smooth. I start with less than I expect to need then add a little more if necessary. It rinses off well without any lingering residue. For me, it really cleanses my skin. It removes makeup and sunscreen. My skin feels so refreshed after use. The best thing is that my skin doesn't feel stripped or overly dry afterward. It feels soft. Overall, this is a very nice cleansing option. Because only a small amount is needed, I find the value to be good. This is something that I will buy in the future. I really like it.

I'm really impressed with how well the PERFECT ONE FOCUS cleansing balm melts away makeup and rinses off clean—no oily residue left behind. The texture is smooth and lightweight, which makes it super easy to remove makeup and sunscreen. I have very sensitive skin and eyes, and I’ve tried so many oil-based makeup removers. Most of them are either too thick, leave a film, or irritate my eyes—so I end up having to double-cleanse just to feel clean. Not this one! It didn’t irritate my skin or eyes at all, and it left my skin feeling soft, smooth, and calm. The scent is soft and subtle, and the ingredients are all great. I’ll definitely keep buying this—it’s a new favorite, and I highly recommend it!

So this balm is quite interesting. It starts out feeling a little thick coming out of the jar but immediately turns to like an oil that glides easy on my face once there's some heat to melt the balm. It does emulsify a little into a milky water once I started rinsing my face with warm water. It doesn't completely remove the balm, so I had to follow up with a foam cleanser and that removed most if not all of the cleansing balm on my skin. It was good for removing my sunscreen, but I was surprised by the amount of blackheads I still had on my face. It didn't cause my skin any irritation and my skin does feel more soft after, but that was kind of it for me. For the size, I didn't need to use a lot to cover my face so a little goes a long way, but still a little pricey.
