  • Clean cut wood
Material Type: Red Oak Wood Size: A) 5-6inch TINY Wood
Wood is very clean, precisely cut, best of all, provides excellent flavor. Doing a BBQ with this wood will impress your guests and friends. One tip, I like to soak the wood 30-60 minutes before cooking to get the slow release of smoke. Can't go wrong!

  • Great BBQ Wood
Material Type: White Oak Wood Size: D) 12 inch Lengths
I use oak in my Santa Maria Grill for tri-tips or Pichana. It burns a long time and has just the right amount of smoke. I put natural chunk charcoal down as a base and a couple small sticks of oak on top. Good stuff!

  • Perfect for Ooni pizza ovens.
Material Type: White Oak Wood Size: C) 8inch Splits (25-30lbs)
These are not the best value for the quantity of wood but the size of the logs is perfectly convenient for use in my Ooni pro pizza oven. It would also be great for tiny fireplaces where you just want to display some wood and not burn much. The oak burns very hot with minimal soot. It still gives my pizza a smoky flavor on its own but I often add a few smoker chunks of cherry or apple to add a more pronounced flavor. It will easily get your oven up to 900F, but the smaller split size means they do burn pretty quickly. Definitely not for fireplace use unless it’s mostly just for looks or you just can’t buy firewood in your area. It would also be a convenient, but spendy option for a camp out. I don’t have a fireplace and I can only get smoking wood chunks at the home improvement store. I don’t use that many logs and the local firewood guys I spoke to don’t want to deal with an order if it has to be cut to this short a length. Apparently there is an automated cutter that only goes so short and they would have to cut each one with a handheld chainsaw. So ultimately this product fits a specific need for me and I’m totally satisfied with it except for the slightly high cost. ... show more

  • A little $$ but PHENOMENAL!!
Material Type: Pecan Wood Size: C) 8inch Splits (25-30lbs)
These wood pieces were exactly as described. 8 inch mini splits, and they were all equal size, no huge pieces, no small pieces, it made fire management incredibly easy. The wood was kiln dried, and all I had to do was keep a few splits at the back of my fire box away from the flame (to warm them up) as I tended the fire and added fresh wood. I have never found it easier to manage my temperature. I was able to keep steady temperatures at 225°, 250°, and 275°. Even though these wood splits are on the pricey side, to me, I felt the burning quality, the flavor, and the smoke, was worth every penny. I will be buying more of these in the future!! ... show more

  • Great customer service
Material Type: Maple Wood Size: D) 12 inch Lengths
Liking the 12" pieces for my small chiminea! Well-seasoned. Easy light. Kindling included. We just have a small fire occasionally and this is perfect but now it's going in the smoker. I had an issue with a shipment and they went over and above to make it right. Thank you!

  • Expensive but worth it
Material Type: Red Oak Wood Size: C) 8inch Splits (25-30lbs)
We got this strictly for making wood fired pizza. The smell of the wood is glorious. It burns so hot that I thought it was going to melt my pizza oven but of course it didn’t. The aroma of the burning wood and the flavor it creates on the pizza are both divine.

  • Great product and customer service!
Material Type: White Oak Wood Size: B) 8inch Splits (8-10lbs)
I wrote them with a question about specific wood type I had received as I wanted to ensure that it was correct for my intended flavor profile. Their response(s) to my questions were prompt, personal, and very helpful, with customer satisfaction being their clear priority. In a time where so many responses are automated it is most refreshing to communicate directly with a caring team that has great products and packing and the knowledge to back it up and respond to customer need and inquiry!! ... show more

  • Pizza Wood + Ooni
Material Type: White Oak Wood Size: A) 5-6inch TINY Wood
This is a review of the "tiny pizza wood," which I purchased for use in my Ooni Karu. The price point is pretty decent for pre-cut wood, and you get a nice large box cut down into 6" strips, just as promised. I'm not an expert on wood, so I can't say whether or not I actually received the white oak I ordered, but the wood seems quite hard and burns similarly to other oak -- I think it's the real deal. I'm subtracting a couple of stars because I feel that although the lengths of the sticks are perfect, and the widths are okay -- in the 1" to 2" range -- the thickness is not enough, at just 1/4" to 1/2" for most of the sticks. This means that they burn on the hot and fast side, making it very tough to control the heat level inside of the oven, especially given that the Ooni's fuel chamber is quite small. Once it gets going, a fill up lasts maybe five minutes, and the flames can get a touch too intense. I'm not the fastest when it comes to opening dough balls or topping a pizza, so if I run outside, fill up the Ooni with these sticks, and get to stretching, by the time I'm ready to launch the flames are gone. Or if I fill it up right before putting the cheese on or whatever and not quite enough time has elapsed, I wind up with too much heat and a singed crust. Timing can be tricky. It would be great to see another version of this product in a similar length, but cut significantly thicker. (Think Jenga pieces.) Another option would be more of a "chunk" style -- both shorter and thicker, more of a cube shape. Bottom line, I feel that the value is okay for this product and I got what I paid for, but I'm not really happy for my particular use case. YMMV on this one. ... show more
