  • Garmin Vivoactive 3 1,2"???
This product is very good, but I have questions about the description of the product that no one has been able to answer. I wanted to make sure I got what I paid for. This watch was bought as the "Garmin Vivoactive 3 1,2" . I called Garmin and they told me that there is no such thing as a product named "Garmin Vivoactive 3 1,2", that the only model of the 3 series is the "Garmin Vivoactive 3" and the "Garmin Vivoactive 3 Music". I paid for this refurbished product more than the brand new one sells for. This because the "3 1,2" seemed to be presented as a newer model (3 1,2); the availability lists as September 26, 2018. In my opinion, and I repeat, in my opinion, I feel like there is some deceit involved. ... show more

  • Way better than my Fitbit Blaze
This watch competes against the smarter of the Fitbit watches, and since I came from using a Fitbit Blaze, that's what I'm largely going to compare it against. The one place where fitbit devices win out is in the resident application, and auto activity detection. While I generally prefer the Garmin app, It is infuriating that food tracking is outsourced to Under Armour's application. They do sync together, but the Under Armor app is about 90% advertisements, is bloated, and a pain to use. Also, this device has trouble accurately detecting when I climb stairs, and it 100% fails to autodetect activities, like walking, jogging or bike riding. Those are the negatives. Onto the positives. 1. Heart rate: The heart rate detection is nearly flawless, especially compared to my old fitbit. The Garmin almost never loses my heart rate, whereas the fitbit would constantly drop out. 2. Onboard GPS: I can go running, biking, etc with just the watch, and it has ONBOARD gps. A number of Fitbit products claim to do GPS tracking of activities, but in the fine print, they let you know it uses your phone GPS to track, so you're really no better off than just using an app on your phone at that point. 3. Battery life: Battery life on the Garmin watch is epic. I can easily go over a week without charging it. In fact, I get MORE life than Garmin claims. The only caveat to that is when you are doing GPS tracking, you can burn through a charge in a long day or so. For passive wear, though, it is epic. 4. Screen: At first I was underwhelmed by the screen, it's a reflective color LCD, so it is much less vibrant than some other smart watches. However, that reflective screen has some benefits I didn't consider at first... Since it is LCD, it can be on ALL THE TIME. That means there are no button presses or strange arm twitches needed to check the time. If it's dark out, a quick tap of the screen will turn on the backlight. Also, the screen is touch-sensitive, which makes navigation very intuitive. 5. Device navigation: Dovetailing to the above point, you can move around on the watch using multiple techniques: Swiping and tapping on the screen, sliding your finger along the side opposite the crown button, and tapping the crown button. This flexibility allows use of the watch with gloves on. 6. Customization: There are many, many great watchfaces and applications available for the Vivoactive watches. 7. Watchbands: Unlike Fitbit, Garmin opted for a traditional watch band system. This means you can go out and buy whatever style band you like, and use it with the Vivoactive. I'm personally a fan of metal bands, so it was easy to get something that fit nicely. Overall, much superior to other offerings I've tried out. ... show more

  • It's kind of like a toy. Better options available....
Although this smartwatch seems sleek in photos, in real life it feels like an expensive toy. This watch has a good amount of features, but the problem is in it's reliability. It has to do with the software. It was just ok. And cost vs. Functionality doesn't work.

  • Price and reliability.
This is 4th watch I have owned and by far the best. Best battery life, step accuracy BP. and price. First tracker I did not need to call support to set up.

  • Hesitance to order a refurbished unnecessary
After 3 Fitbit watches failing WAY too soon IMO, I was ready to try a different brand watch. My wife's Garmin GPS bike computer has been excellent, so I chose to try a Garmin watch. I decided to buy a refurbished one after sticker shock for a new one. It was a low risk choice because 2 of our kids have Vivoactive 3 watches and really like them. I didn't see any blemish whatsoever until I looked at it through a magnifying lens in direct sunlight. The scratches are MINOR. Setup was easy with the Garmin Connect app for Android and the watch is easy to use. My only complaint is the watch band is a little small for my wrist, but I was planning to buy a metal band for it anyway. ... show more

  • I like it.
I have to say this little watch has a great user interface. Easy to navigate. I have an Android phone, and it pairs like a dream straight out of the box. One downside? The purported seven day battery life is more like three with my regular usage. Of course your mileage may vary.

  • Great value, cool styling, twice the battery life of Apple and Samsung
At less than half the price plus fully waterproof. I did not want to shell out over $200 so at close to $150 this watch was a steal even the renewed model arrived like new and worked flawlessly. Plenty of watch faces, widgets and apps

  • Great smart/fit watch
Great watch. Bought this as a replacement for my Fitbit. Love it so far. Battery life could be better, but not bad overall. Was a little Leary of buying refurbished, but happy with the purchase
