  • Function
Have one previously installed. Haven’t installed these yet. But. Can’t tell Alexa to turn on the fan only light. Alexa app allows you to control the fan and light. And to reset the WI-FI, information was nat given. I found it on someone else’s comment. Hold the light and fan high buttons at the same time for resetting connection to WI-FI. ... show more

  • It Works, but No Light Dimmer, and Difficult Fit
This works. But it's a pain in the butt. First, it's probably larger than whatever fan control came with your ceiling fan, so fitting it inside the fan assembly requires very careful shenanigans. There's no light dimmer, that's annoying, but smart bulbs can be used instead of you need that. I wish I knew that, I wouldn't have bought stupid bulbs for this. Finally, the WiFi setup is also a pain in the butt. Here's how I got it working: Go to the Smart Life app. Select Manually Add, then select lights, then Ceiling Fan (WiFi). You will be prompted to enter your wifi login info. Do that, then click "Switch" - this will ask you to select the fan's wifi to configure the wifi settings for you. You should now see a list of available wifi names. Shut off the fan with the wall switch. Turn it on with the wall switch. Pairing mode: Hold the Light(on/off) and fan HI buttons for at least ten seconds until you hear the ceiling fan beep. Let go of the buttons. HOPEFULLY, you'll see a new wifi name appear with smartlife-???? that you can select and proceed with wifi setup. If it doesn't appear, try shutting off the fan and reinitiating the pairing mode. After you successfully connect to the fan wifi, the app will ask you if the lights are blinking. Mine didn't. Just say yes, and once again, HOPEFULLY, it will successfully pair. Good luck. ... show more

  • Can be tricky to install, but works well
It took some creativity on my part to actually fit this controller into the housing of my ceiling fan, but I eventually managed to get it crammed in there and installed. Wiring was simple and straightforward ... all the wire colors matched, so I guess that complaint from older reviews has been addressed. I was also glad I found the tip (in the Q&A section) that the fan needs to be running in order for the "voice" slider to appear in the app so you can turn off the beeping. After install I linked it to the Tuya Smart app (and into my Homeseer and Homebridge setups) and am now able to control my old pull-chain fan and light from my phone or via Alexa. It's weird that you can tell Alexa to set the fan to "low" or "high" but not "medium" (you have to use "level 2"). I do like how you can easily set timers for the fan or light ("Alexa, turn off the ceiling fan in 15 minutes."). I was a little disappointed that the remote did not come with batteries, nor did box include screws for the remote's mounting bracket. Luckily I had some old outlet faceplate screws around that worked. I ended up mounting it to a magnetic switch cover so that a) the wall switch isn't accidentally pressed, turning off the controller and b) the remote is in a convenient place so it can be used to turn on the light manually. ... show more

  • I can't knock it but...
I can't knock it but I'm probably sending it back. I didn't realize it doesn't have a dimmer. It's in the listing, very tiny, probably only mentioned once, but I missed it. It's a shame too cuse I was excited about this. I was looking replace the one I have and add Google home support. I'm only submitting a review so that maybe I can save someone else from making the same mistake. PS - It seems well made. I'm a little skeptical I could have gotten it installed though cuse it seems thicker than the one I have now and I remember that being a chore due to the lack of space. ... show more

  • Works great!
This works really well with Google Home and Google Assistant which is what I got it for. It's a little confusing to setup if you're not a technical person. It's very easy to install and the hardest part was getting it to fit into the ceiling fan shroud. Wish the unit that goes in the fan was smaller because I had to secure it with zip ties and it just barely fit. Other than that it works great and is so cool! ... show more

  • Works as expected but a bit larger than my fan housing
This worked exactly as advertised so I can't complain but it would not fit in my fan housing or the boot that goes around the bar at the ceiling. I had to improvise and set it on top of the fan. We have used it with Alexa for about a month. I only wish I had installed it sooner! I would buy again.
