Need to install the app (QR code on box) to connect, but is able to notify me of messages, swap watch faces, screen looks very good (especially for the $30 I paid for the watch). You can also receive other types of notifications, play audio/music through it, and it has all of the basic apps that you would need for a watch (stopwatch, timer, health monitoring, and others).
