  • Hands Free Skid Control!

I'm not talking driver-less vehicle here, so use your imagination; but believe it or not, that title sums up what impressed me most after 1 week of this smart toilet operation. Virtually hands-off operation! I probably used less than two lineal yards of TP in that time, and that mainly in the first couple days when I was getting used to the toilet's features. In a way, a toilet like this is like some kind of power tool--let's say a "Toolet." Like many power tools the user takes time getting to know its strengths and weaknesses, and developing techniques for best use. That was the progression as I delved into the wonderfully weird world of a toilet that's programmed to make a human happy, carefree, and CLEAN! Yes, all the features advertised worked pretty much as described in its description. No, they did not always work as I expected or hoped. YES auto lids, warmed seat, auto flushing, limitless warm washing & drying are features that can make one WANT to go potty; but there ARE some nuances, and downright dysfunctions, to be aware of in this otherwise remarkable toilet. First and foremost, and not yet resolved, is the water metering. My house has low water pressure and the timed sequences of pre-wetting, flushing, and refilling do not seem to utilize enough water to get the job done adequately in a single operation. Generally I need to flush again, and sometimes a third time, still using much less water overall than my old toilet but taking more time and I'm sure using more water than would be if it just used a proper amount in the first place. It would be a simple matter of increasing the time per cycle, something computers excel at, yet there's no obvious means of adjustment provided in the setup instructions. That leads to an associated complaint--this toilet comes with a warranty card and the explicit instructions to "...be sure to fill in the copy of warranty card and send it to our after-sales service department within 1 month..." but THERE IS NO CONTACT OR COMPANY INFORMATION PROVIDED WITH THE TOILET! Not so much as an email address. So the Amazon listing is likely the only means by which anyone associated with this toilet can be reached, and hopefully that will provide access to the manufacturer's support department. Remains to be seen. Other, more minor, issues include: 1) the default temp settings set at 97 degrees should probably be lowered to 93 since most booties are reared (ha ha) without ANY external warming and tend to feel "cooked" at the higher temp. Just sayin'. Anyway, that's an easy adjustment using the provided controls and instructions; 2) the foot sensor can be a definite annoyance in a confined space like that of my attached bathroom. It can also lead to hilarious consequences as it did when I demo'd the installation to my wife and she basically performed a toilet tango as it raised and lowered its seat and cover in response to her foot movement. Though great entertainment, it would be a big problem should she sit down on the bowl with a raised seat during a nighttime excursion. Though not MY fault I would be blamed as an accomplice. I could find no way to disable the auto seat flip via controls. My only means of remedy was to disconnect the sensor entirely--easily done via the accessible cavity behind the toilet that hides cables and hoses. Ideally the controls would have a setting to increase time of sensor actuation, as well as to disable the seat flip--not needed since I'm the type of fastidious male that does not use a toilet standing up; 3) I have already established a love-hate relationship with the proximity sensor for the cover flip. On one hand I love the automatic opening when entering the bathroom. On the other I hate getting gently bumped from behind while brushing my teeth within swing distance of the cover when it automatically closes. This would not pose any problem in a bathroom with more space than mine, but it could also be easily remedied by a proximity sensor that was programmed to be smart enough to know when I had left the room and to keep the lid open until then. Are you listening, all you smart toilet coders, or are you too obliviously enjoying the comfort of the 21st Century marvels you have had a hand in creating? About this generation of toilets in general: Though maybe not perfected, the features of smart toilets such as this one add up to an amazing set of improvements over the run-of-the-mill garden variety toilet that's happy just to flush properly--at best in two ways when upgraded for the eco-friendly 21st Century. My old toilet, a pink 1970's retro gem, originally used a minimum of 3-4 gallons of water per flush. Even after upgrades it used upwards of 2 gallons for a full flush. It was pretty looking and did get the job done without a doubt, but also without any bells, whistles, or booty-warming bennies. That was fine for its half century of use. But do the math: even conservatively it likely used nearly 200,000 gallons of water over the course of its lifetime, compared to my new smart toilet which uses as little as a half gallon per flush. Over the same period of time with the same usage it would've used less than 33,000 gallons, better than an 85% reduction! That could save a pocketbook, if not the planet, and is a definite selling point in and of itself. Then there's the big BUT (ha ha ha), based on my first impressions about reliability, my guess is this toilet's lifetime will be considerably shorter than its pretty pink predecessor--like maybe 90% shorter! I base that estimate on the fact that standard toilets are designed to be maintained and repaired and rarely EVER need to be replaced due to dysfunction. Smart toilets are new technological marvels that depend upon many parts that are not user serviceable and which, ostensibly, would render repair less cost-effective than replacement of the entire toilet within as little as 5 years. That's a sad statement on the state of today's technology that in my experience is unfortunate but true. I can only hope that the same standardization eventually takes place with these toilets to make them as maintainable and long-lasting as toilets have always been. After all, in appearance they are still the porcelain pedestals of yore which could last for generations were it not for the crazy technological madness going on behind the scenes. ... show more

  • Highly recommend!

Absolutely love this smart toilet! Installation was smooth, and it looks very sleek and modern in my bathroom. The heated bidet seat is a game-changer, and the warm water spray + air dryer combo is super comfortable and hygienic. The foot sensor operation is really convenient, especially when your hands are full. I also love the Fahrenheit LED display — it feels high-tech and is easy to read. Tankless design makes it more compact and efficient. Highly recommend this to anyone looking to upgrade their bathroom experience! ... show more

  • Defective product.
Style: K1 Bas
We got the toilet installed and the plumber turned the water on to feed water to the toilet and water started going everywhere. My plumber discovered that there was a crack in the housing which feeds water to the bidet.

  • Customer service satisfaction!
Style: K1 Bas
I haven’t installed the smart toilet yet, but I wanted to leave a review based on my experience so far. The first unit arrived damaged, but the customer service was excellent — they responded quickly and sent a replacement without any hassle. The new one arrived in perfect condition and looks amazing right out of the box. Everything about the design and features seems high quality — I’m especially excited about the heated seat, bidet functions, and foot sensor. Can’t wait to get it set up and try it out! So far, very impressed with both the product and the company’s service. ... show more

  • Looks good!
Style: K1 Bas
Swinging back around as my first review wasn't great due to installation. Turns out it was due to my lack of plumbing knowledge as well as the home Depot guys lol Got it installed and it looks so good. But it doesn't have as much cleaning power as my bio bidet did. The foot sensor is also inconsistent on when and why it works and doesn't. But that only effects me and not my wife. For a cheap all in one system it's a hard 4 star Impression out of the box. ... show more

  • Everything works as it should.
Style: K1 Bas
I’m impressed with this toilet. I was worried that it would not fit my expectations. It is perfect and has a small battery backup in case we lose power. We live on a small farm and that’s an issue when it storms. The night light in the toilet is perfect.
