Smallrig, this light is not up to the same quality standards as all of your other products i own. The barn doors are a cheap feeling plastic, one door was off when i opened the package, and i seriously thought it would not last reinstallation. The body just feels cheap. The power button can be delayed and unresponsive at times The most dissapointing thing they did with this light was the power, now the screw in portion, so it stays in, is awesome, but this cheap little cord, and power box....... wtf. Why? is it the additional heat that would be the issue? well fine, give me a real power cord, with a laptop style power box (or whatever its called) For the ask we couldnt be given a second way to power the light? there is no way the demand is that high, just look at the plug in BS..... USB or a real power cord was the answer This for me is a put it in place and never move it again light, it just is, becauyse it wont last for travel, and what if i forget the cord, it doesnt come with a bag or storage container, and its just not the light we needed, nor asked for, maybe 2.0 will be better.

This is a lovely light with the price but there are several things I would love to see more from this line. Context I own 3 Smallrig 220B and 1 220D, and so many other smallrig products but this is my first review for smallrig. I just have to write it because I love this light so much. Let's start with the pros: 1. Portable and the light quality is really good for most applications (but once you get under 3000K the color shift is horrendous hence the 4 stars) 2. can be powered by V-mount batter. 3. Projection lens bi-color light under $100 4. 30w but strong enough for what I intend to use it with (shooting details, portraits, portable weddings lights) Cons: 1. Build quality, there are other light in this price range that have better build quality (granted they are not projection light) but if I can get better build quality for an extra $50 or $75 I would not mind. 2. no bluetooh connection, I have all of my lights on my Bluetooth smallrig app but this one does not have it. 3. Would love a 60w version of this. 4. Using DC for power and not including in the USB C to DC power is bad in my opinion, should have just been USB C power or included the cable with the kit, I use Smallrig V-mount battery and I have to buy a separate cable and mount to have the handle on the light is not something I hope from smallrig when you already have so many other products. Please add like a "Pro kit" option or something to include everything.

I just needed a good light to light up a night blooming plant for a time lapse video I needed to make and this was just the light to do it. I had it on for 8 hours and it did not overheat and kept a steady beam the whole time. It took a few minutes to get the angle just right but once it was where I wanted it was perfect. My next project is going to be in my home studio but for now I am very satisfied with this small studio light. I highly recommend this light for a small home studio, a small lit area outdoors at night or as an addition to your existing lighting to fill in a dark area of your set.

The focusing ability of this light is its most compelling feature. I love being able to narrow the beam without a snoot reducing the power output. The build quality of this kit was a major let-down. Everything, including the barn doors and mounting bracket, are very cheap plastic. The lack of a USB powering option makes this light a lot less valuable for portable work than it should be.
