The Best Pocket Camera you can own!
I also recently had the chance to try the Ricoh GR IV, and it continues the GR series tradition of being an excellent compact camera for street and everyday photography. The image quality is impressive, with sharp detail, natural colors, and strong low-light performance for such a small camera. One of the standout features is its portability. The GR IV easily fits into a pocket, making it ideal for travel or spontaneous shooting. The autofocus feels responsive, and the controls are intuitive, allowing quick adjustments while shooting on the go. The camera’s lens delivers crisp images, and the overall handling feels comfortable despite the compact body. Battery life is decent for casual use, though carrying an extra battery is still a good idea for longer outings. Overall, the Ricoh GR IV is a fantastic option for photographers who want high-quality images in a lightweight and portable camera. It’s especially well suited for street photography, travel, and everyday moments. ... show more

Unique Compact APSC Camera with Many Shortcomings
No doubt this is the only and really portable compact camera on the market, but with a lot of shortcomings: no EVF, no zoom lens, no flash, no ordinary SD card (mini SD), and the loose battery compartment will cause lens issues frequently (not shut down or close properly). I understood well why a lot of consumers returned it immediately when they tried it for the first time, they were scared by the malfunction of its lens, just as I was. However, after calming down in the next few days, I finally found the solution to make it work like a so-called "premium compact" camera: 1) Update immediately the firmware by downloading from Ricoh's website; 2) Install a half case to avoid occasional touching of the battery lid; 3) Equip it with a lens cap; 4) Use only Ricoh's genuine battery. Now it works well during this first month, no more lens issues. By the way, Ricoh GR IV is not suitable for everyone, the better choice is Panasonic's ZS200 (as in the attached pics) which has almost the same size, similar sharp image quality, an EVF, flash, powerful zoom lens 24-360mm, better manufactured quality (very reliable!) I decided to keep Ricoh GR IV just for one reason: it has an APSC sensor and the image resolution is a little bit higher than ZS200's 1" sensor . However, I still feel Panasonic ZS200 is more powerful and convenient for any situation. ... show more

Snap photographer’s dream
Well, well, well. It looks like we have an all-around snap-shooting monster. A good monster. You get: 1. DSLR manual controls 2. Compact, discreet body 3. APS-C sensor 4. Crazy good IBIS 5. Very well-designed menu system 6. Three user modes accessible from a dial 7. Customizable color styles in camera 8. 28mm FF equivalent FoV 9. Superb lens sharpness 10. Top notch image quality But, if you are looking at this camera, you already knew that. ... show more

This was a wasted experiment, and Amazon won't give you your money back in a reasonably timely way!
I'm a semiprofessional photographer who has been using both mechanical and digital cameras for decades. I decided to try this camera based on reviews and suggestions. I wish I hadn't! It is far too small for medium-large man sized hands, the controls are confusing beyond common sense, the menus are not organized in an intuitive way, and on top of all that, if you return it (as I did), Amazon will drag its feet on a refund, taking as long as it can to avoid giving you your money back. And when you try to call a person, you first have to deal with a Amazon crappy chatbot that runs you in circles. Then if you do manage to get through to a person, it's likely to be someone in a very noisy overcrowded call center in India where they apparently have no noise cancelling headphones. AND THEN you get fed a line of garbage about what they cannot do, all while they apologize profusely, but don't actually do anything helpful. BL: I will not ever again buy anything this expensive from Amazon! I'll go back to specialty dealers who may be a little more expensive and charge shipping, but at least they don't do their best to avoid actually helping customers. ... show more

Marginal improvement over griii
Marginal improvement over the GRIII but still missed the mark by not implementing in body flash. Skin tones still seem to be behind fujifilm

Great image quality, poor autofocus.
This camera took beautiful pictures, but the focus speed and face tracking leave a lot to be desired if what you are trying to take is pictures of fast moving toddlers. It’s also perfectly pocketable. Honestly it would be the ideal camera for me if the face tracking was faster and more accurate.
