They are fairly tall even when fully broken down, so know that for storage and mobility purposes. The twist knob works to lock it, and is strong without being difficult to use or feeling like you have to crank it down. The stand is stable with a 200d light and large 40cm softbox, even without being fully extended at the base. I've owned around 10 light stands in the past couple of years, and this is by far the most confidence-inspiring. Being able to just flip open the lever and let the girthy AD600 PRO strobe gracefully waft down the air-cushioned shaft is the most satisfying thing.     • Lightweight and great quality
I ordered one to test and was so impressed I got two more. I have heavy studio stands and needed something light and portable. The air dampening is not really needed but great if you treat the stand like a clown so it might safe your flash. Will buy this brand again for sure.

Pretty nice! I really appreciate the rubber feat that prevent it from rattling around on the floor! Also it's cool that they have clips vs the standard screws on most stands.

The media could not be loaded. The good news - Coming out of the box, you would think that this was a heavy duty light stand but it isnt. The grade of metal with this is great. Very solid and sturdy enough for any lighting setup you want to throw at it. The rubber foot caps to protect flooring is also a nice touch. But the design elements stop there. This is an air cushioned stand. But its either missing springs or should be spring loaded. I have to manually extend this up and down. Also I can hear & feel the air depress at the bottom of the stand. There might be a hole at the bottom at that. The claps to lock the stand in place are also really loose. Can they be tightened? Probably. But that doesnt give me much confidence out of the box. Theres some things missing with this stand or not included. My hope is that its defective but probably not. I cant use a lightstand that doesnt extend and retract properly and i dont feel air releasing out of any of my other spring loaded air cushioned light stands. I like that This has the build of a heavy duty light stand but I cant use the copy I have. *Update* Smallrig reached out and explained the design of the stand. It makes sense now. Still love the stand build, just mindful of its operation now. ... show more
