This SmallRig full cage for the DJI Osmo Nano is exactly what I was looking for. I’m always on the lookout for compact cages for my DJI products, and SmallRig clearly understands the needs of photographers and videographers. The built-in 1/4"-20 threaded mount is incredibly useful and something I wish more companies would include. I don’t understand why so many manufacturers keep pushing magnetic clip mounts when a solid threaded mount is far more versatile. This cage allows me to use magic arms, suction cups, and other accessories, making it easy to set up almost anywhere while on the go. The aluminum build feels solid, the cold shoe is a great bonus, and the overall design is well thought out. If you want a reliable cage with real mounting options, this is a great choice.

As the title says, I picked up both the full and half to try out and decide. My initial thought, and purchase was for the full cage for the protection of all edges. But then I saw the idea behind the half and I picked that one up a day or two later to try side by side with the full. The full does indeed provide protection to all of the edges. And sure enough, the half does not come up far enough to provide any protection for the top of the camera module. I feel like that was a poor thought process. If they had taken the two side rails up just a millimeter or two to help protect the top, I would feel better about the half cage protection. For the full, the camera module only goes in one direction but the vision dock can be flipped either direction. All buttons and ports can be reach with the dock in either way. Vert and horizontal magnet mounts plus a cold shoe. The half looks like you can have everything facing whatever way you want, initially. Obviously, the top is open so you can flip the camera module either way or detach it completely. (But then you have an unprotected camera module.) The tricky part is the vision dock. While it does fit in both ways, one side has the magnet mount for vert orientation and it's going to cover something on that side. Best bet is to put the button on that side where it mostly pokes out but not completely. If you put the dock in the other way, you won't have access to the port door. Neither one is the perfect choice and I'm still not sure which one I would want to return or if I will. They both have their uses. Neither one really protects the lens. The full might offer just a wee bit more, maybe. I picked up the JJC metal lens cap to help with that.

Build quality seems nice. Lower half of the nano fits but there is no way to fit the nano camera in the cage. Have specs changed? Revised: removed protective case and cam fits perfectly.

The media could not be loaded. I picked up the SmallRig Full Cage for my DJI Osmo Nano because I wanted better protection and more mounting options, and it absolutely delivered. The aluminum build feels premium and solid without making the Nano overly bulky. Inside the cage, the silicone padding keeps the camera secure and prevents scratches. Installation is quick thanks to the one-touch locking mechanism, and I love that I can still access the SD card and buttons without removing the cage. The biggest upgrade for me is the added mounting flexibility. The cold shoe mount and 1/4"-20 threaded holes make it easy to attach a microphone, small LED light, or mount it to a tripod. It instantly turns the Nano into a more complete vlogging setup. Switching between portrait and landscape mode is also simple, which is great if you create content for multiple platforms. If you’re serious about protecting your DJI Osmo Nano and expanding its usability, this full cage is a great investment. Highly recommend for creators and anyone traveling with their Nano.

Recientemente adquirí la jaula SmallRig para la DJI Osmo Nano y la experiencia ha sido excelente. Lo que más destaco es la precisión del diseño: la cámara se amolda perfectamente al armazón, brindando una protección integral sin añadir volumen innecesario. El mecanismo de apertura y cierre es sumamente cómodo y fluido, pero una vez asegurado, se siente totalmente firme, lo que da mucha tranquilidad al manipular el equipo en movimiento. Además, un punto muy a favor es su versatilidad, ya que permite utilizar la cámara de forma independiente sin el visor, manteniendo siempre la estructura de la jaula para protegerla o añadir accesorios. SmallRig is known for great products for the DJI line of products, and this one is no different. It slides right over the Osmo Nano with ease and has the 1/4-20 adapter at the bottom and standard DJI clips which make this a more versatile cage for being used with multiple adapter pieces.
