I replaced a minimalist 6 year old USB-A to micro-USB charger with this one. I use my charger in the field off of a solar/battery setup and was looking for a minimal USB-C replacement. This charger can pull almost double the power (22.5W) via USB-C and should charge my batteries 2x faster. It's fairly minimal but I realized I could trim it down with a dremel pretty easily. There are two tabs toward the bottom along the center column that secure the battery. So while the taller sleeve offers a little more protection - it doesn't add much security. 10 minute job on the dremel cut down the form factor 75%. It's perfect now. ... show more

Charges decently fast while maintaining a compact size for a dual charger. The USB cable is a right angle one so it doesn’t stick out awkwardly. Like most SmallRig products it’s well designed and comes in at a great price point.

Excellent small (even tiny) 2 battery charger. The charge indicator lights are fairly accurate about the charge level of the battery. I like how it will charge both batteries at the same time if you have a 30 watt or greater charging brick. I was very surprised with how well the charger was packaged, it had 3 layers of waffle paper wrapped around it for extra strong protection. The batteries do charge to 100% in 2 hours 10 mins via USB-C cable, I was using a 45W charging brick. Better than the Nikon charger which took 3+ hours for 1 battery. ... show more

Smallrig built a reputation for creating relatively high-quality products at a reasonable price. Sadly, this product doesn't belong in that category. Just like any other cheap charger, this is using 2 pins instead of 5 so you're at a great risk of damaging your battery since the 3 pins are used by the charger and the battery to communicate to control charge rate and avoid overcharging based on battery age. For cheaper non-Nikon battery this may be ok since they are much cheaper, but it is a problem for Nikon-branded ones which are far superior in longevity and lifespan despite the higher price. In addition, one of my _new_ OEM EN-EL15c battery won't charge on this to begin with. I like the form-factor and the fact that it uses USB C, but the positives end there. ... show more

So far, so good. Nice small size, charges 2 batteries at once which is convenient. I like that it uses any usb-c power source to charge i.e. phone charger, portable power bank, car charger, etc. I have the charger for Nikon EN-EL15 batteries and it works just fine.
