This is a very good ceiling light fixture. It is very simple to install. It goes from mind-bogglingly icy white to a fairly warm yellowish glow. It also has a night light feature. You need to note that this light has a built-in dimming fuction, but only with the remote control. That is either a feature, or a bug, depending on your use case. You can purchase a very similar light to this that is dimmable but only with a dimmer switch on the wall (that is never included). Those lights are always less expensive than this light by just about the price of a wall switch dimmer (~$10). So, if you want a dimmable ceiling light, your choice is this light with a built-in dimmer using a remote control, or a cheaper light plus a wall switch dimmer. The end price seems to be the same. So choose between wall dimmer or remote dimmer. (Note that the built-in dimmer does not work with a wall dimmer, according to the instructions.) This is a good ceiling light with a night light feature and built-in dimmer using a remote control. I recommend it is that's what you want. ... show more

I needed a thin light to hug the ceiling at the bottom of my stairs. The ceiling is low (7'), and lower hanging lights get in the way when I'm trying to carry large objects up or down the stairs. This light was easy to install and hugs the ceiling. The remote control allows you to set the brightness, color temp, and night light feature. The night light feature looks really cool. It lights a ring on the top side of the light, reflecting off the ceiling (second picture). The best part is, if you have this light on a switch, it remembers the settings from the last time it was powered on. It's plenty bright, enough so that I had to drop it a couple notches so it wasn't hard on the eyes (due to the low ceiling). Of note: It doesn't have a ground wire, which doesn't affect the function of the light, but I wish it had one just for safety purposes. ... show more

Ordered these 13Inch Flush Mount Ceiling Light Fixture to install in my brother's new home he purchased in the islands. Took a little while to get here and publish the review after installation. At first I had the lights on a lutron led dimmer, that caused flicker on startup which subsided as soon as I swapped that for a standard 3 way switch. The dimming on these fixtures is accomplished via the remote control. The single remote controls both units, I found that it worked on whichever unit I was standing within 5 feet of. The night light feature is neat, as well as the adjustable color tone via the remote. Full featured which is really neat. The downside being I placed two of these in the same room hoping each remote would work on each light. They look good installed. The color tone also changes via the switch if you happen to lose the remote then you can adjust the color by quickly turning the switch on and off. Personally I do not like that feature, I would prefer a hard switch on the light as other users may not realize that is the method needed to adjust the color temp and may change it on accident. Probably best to install these in separate rooms. The install was fairly straightforward, with one issue that I took half a star off for. The mounting bracket only has about a 1 inch opening in the center, so you have to partially attach the bracket to the box, feed the wires up and then make the connection. Then tighten down the screws to attach the bracket to the box. If that center hole was perhaps 3 inches in size you could manipulate the wires on the outside of the bracket. Not a big deal just needed a helper to hold the fixture for 2 min while I made the connections. Overall I really like the night light feature, fully adjustable color tone and dimmability from the remotes. That allows you to really customize the output and was a refreshing experience. ... show more
