I bought this topper to go on top of my medium firm temperpedic which just happened to be way to firm for me to handle. This is a good in between. previous mattress toppers were way to soft, and I would almost be swallowed into them, becuase they wouldnt bounce back fast enough for me to shift around. This one has a nice give, it conforms to the body, but let's you move around without sucking you into the foam. Its definitely not cloud soft, but its comfortable. I have it flipped onto the orange side. The grey side would be way to hard on its own. My hip pain has almost gone away, and it doesn't sleep hot, as far as I can tell. It inflated within an hour, in a relatively cool room. The offgas was strong, and while I waited 8 hours to sleep on it, I had to push it off the bed becuase it did give me some chest and throat pain. After I let it out gas for 24hrs with my air filter on it didn't have a smell. So thats a positive. I'll update my review if it doesn't hold up well over time, otherwise I'm a happy customer.

My daughter at first didn't want me to get her a topper. She loved it, and said it made her bed so comfortable. We noticed the charcoal also helped absorb some of the strange smells in her dorm room. Only complaint was her mattress was an xl as most dorm mattresses are and the pad was regular. But she definitely recommended this.
