Not all memory foam is the same. With this I could not be happier. I spent 2 weeks researching, reading reviews & separating what I decided were the bs claims, (& they were many) from what believed to be honest descriptions. I needed an extra firm topper to top my hard as a board convertible sofabed. Hard as if you were almost placing this on the floor. Memory foam is difficult to choose. Most are too soft & have no support or rebound, you just sink in. This 4 inch dual layer has wonderful honest extra firm support. I’m 230 lbs & I don’t just sink in. It’s been just a few days but my low back pain is nearly gone. They have a video on this one where a model in closeup actually presses her hand firmly into it & you see the firmness & minimal deflection. The mattress rebounds the moment the pressure is released. That sold me that the claims were true. The quality is extremely high, it’s soft & extremely comfortable to the body but has very good support. The goldilocks of toppers, just right. They have a 3 inch version but I chose the 4 inch because I was topping a very hard cushion that had blown & offered no support. I’m astonished at the value for the money. The cover is well made soft & strong & the straps to attach to your mattress are high quality wide & adjustable. The two layers of the topper work perfectly together. Top layer is soft but not the ‘standard’ cheap memory foam that sinks too deep & doesn’t recover. The bottom layer is firmer but still has great ‘give’. The design is in my opinion, brilliant. The instructions say to let it expand for 48 to 72 hours but mine was usable the first night & by the the 2nd was fully expanded & firm. There was no smell at all. Yay. Be SUPER-CAREFUL cutting the outer plastic. The topper is rolled & very compressed in its box & cutting into the mattress when opening is a danger. Do NOT use a knife. Use scissors. The topper then unrolls & there’s a second plastic which covers the actual mattress, which should also be very carefully cut. Take your time. Because of the extreme compression there’s very little room to work. I couldn’t be happier with the quality & the value.

I bought this for a queen bed we have at our short term rental. The bed is too soft, IMO, so I bought this to hopefully bring some firmness, and it sure does! It's not overly firm, but supportive. I don't like that it runs a little bigger than my mattress, but it's only on the top (or bottom) not the sides where it would be an issue. It is over a regular innerspring mattress. I felt like it was well made. No weird smells or anything. Very pleased.

I’m 73 and unboxed and set up the topper alone so off to a good start. Slipped it out of the box and set it on the bed, cut away the plastic, it unrolls right-side up. These photos are aprés one hour. The center ridge is adjusting itself - it was big to start. I was considering another Schifman mattress which would be $6400, just for the top mattress, and after setting this up and touching, I have high hopes that this will suffice nicely. I just want a good night’s sleep for the ouchy spot on my hip. The mattress underneath is firm. I will update if that’s possible after one week. 1/10/24 update: certainly glad I researched and read reviews, especially to the negatives concerning firmness. That’s exactly what my works for me. The first night was definitely one of adjustment. We all want to sink down to sleeo and I had a night of feeling the difference of not “sinking in”. The second night was better and so forth; now I look forward to climbing in and it feels cozy but firm and very comfortable. I don’t use a padded mattress cover, my feeling is it’s springy enough and very “just right”. My body feels great in the morning and my hips, both replaced, are happy. It has not caved or indented but I’m 125 lbs. Happily, I can put off buying an expensive mattress. This was a fantastic find.

We have a king size Tempur-Pedic mattress that is 8 years old. It has become pretty soft and was getting to the point where our butts would be in a mattress hole and it was starting to disrupt our sleep and cause a lot of low back issues for me and my husband. Since tempurpedic mattresses are so expensive, I decided to try this firm mattress topper instead and see if it works. I'm in love with this mattress topper! It is so comfortable. After the first night of sleeping on it I woke up with no back pain! In a lot of the reviews it does say that it does have a factory smell but I'm here to tell you that it does dissipate. Just spray some fabric freshener on it a couple of times. I can't believe how much better I sleep now! I feel like my body is able to heal through my sleep, like it's supposed to do, rather than getting all out of alignment and waking up in pain. I highly recommend this product if your mattress has gotten a little soft and you feel that you wake up in the morning not well rested or with aches and pains!

I just recently bought a extra firm king size mattress not realizing once I laid on it it felt like sleeping on a board... After searching the amazon website and reading reviews... One in particular caught my attention she suffered the same back issues as myself. After we both purchased pillow top mattresses in the past which made our backs hurt even worst. Running across this advertisement for this mattress pad was best investment ever. Now i'm able to sleep without waking up throughout the night. If you are a side sleeper an suffer with back and leg issues an pillow top mattresses makes sleeping impossible then I would suggest this pad. Not to hard an definitely not to soft.
