This mattress topper saved me! It was definitely time for a new mattress (and whole new bed anyway) and I decided to try one of those mattress in a box deals. I have never had a memory foam mattress before and assumed the "medium" would be fine for me. I was wrong. Though it felt comfortable to lay on after initial expansion, actually sleeping on it was a different story. It was just a tad too firm to the point that I felt like I was sleeping on a flat surface and not snuggling up into a mattress. At first, I tried to be cheap and just get a pillow topper, but that didn't do much so I returned it. Then I tried this combo, and it was PERFECT! I've been sleeping on this topper for a few months now and it has been amazing. It gives me just the right amount of softness and that slight sinking into my mattress before I hit the firmness of my memory foam. It's the perfect combo for me. This pillow topper is a dream! I purchased the Plush Support style because our mattress is very old, and as soon as we put this on, it felt like a brand-new bed. It’s incredibly comfortable, with just the right balance of softness and support - we've been sleeping so much better since adding it. There was a faint odor when we first opened it, and while I can still notice it slightly, it fades quickly and isn’t bothersome. I purchased the plush style. Very very comfortable!!! I love this. It did have a very strong chemical smell but we laid the topper out for 2 days in with the bedroom window open. It was ready after 2 days. The white cover I washed in cold water & dried on low heat & it held up great, no issues. I have been told I have degenerative disc disease, bilateral hip bursitis, disc issues, mild hip & back arthritis & this topper is amazing regarding pain. No stiffness, no pain, no shoulder discomfort at all. I will say it does make me feel hot so I just removed my weighted blanket & sleep with a lighter blanket. It is not cooling at all. But I can work that since it is so comfortable. I've always used mattress toppers & this one is the best so far! Tip: rotate your topper every few months to lengthen usage. Ordered this to make an old mattress more comfortable. I thought the memory foam would be a bit firmer which is what I really needed. But it's comfortable and almost "bouncy" so I'm sleeping better. The topper is 3" but the mattress pad isn't really very thick. Instead of putting it on top, I just washed the one I had which is very cushiony. So, on the whole, I'm satisfied with the purchase & will see how long it lasts but if people are looking for a very firm mattress topper, they should look for something else. ... show more

    • Egg crate side should go face up for air circulation
I'm very pleased with this new egg crate, memory foam bed topper (with cooling gel layers). I got it for my guest room and just love it! The bed in my guest room has a hard mattress that isn't very comfortable. Trying it out makes me want to upgrade the bed in my room that I sleep on every night! I'd love to have a newer topper with cooling gel layers to help me stay cool at night, which also helps me to sleep better. However, I wanted to leave this review to also point out something IMPORTANT that I noticed, which could make a big difference in the amount of comfort you may or may not get out of this product, depending on which side of your new egg crate memory foam topper you choose to be face up when installing on your mattress. The product description photo shows this item being used incorrectly by the person in the photo. The photo shows a person laying on this topper with the WRONG side faced up. (The smooth side should NOT be faced up.). The egg crate design, with its distinctive peaks and valleys, is crafted for both comfort and airflow. When placing this type of topper on your mattress, the "egg crate" side, or the side with the bumps, should face up. This design ensures better air circulation, preventing heat buildup and offering a cooler sleep. ... show more

    • Had to air out a LONG time....2-3 weeks
Foam is only 3".....mattress pad is 1"....put egg crate side down.....definitely helps comfort of mattress, however, foam definitely heats up to body temperature. Maybe better in summer to use lighter mattress pad?? Smell was overwhelming when first opened.....placed in separate room (2-3 weeks) to air out before putting on bed. Avoid if you have severe allergies.... UPDATE: Have been using for a year now....edges are changing color on foam and I have to take mattress pad to cleaners as it is too large for my large capacity washer and dryer....costly to clean but I would highly recommend this combo....no hip pain disrupting my sleep! ... show more

So this is a game changer for any mattress. I got it to just get another few months out of the one I have and it definitely cools down your sleeping because between the padding and the airflow on the bottom crate of the foam it like impossible not to cause cooler sleep. Next day no neck or shoulder issues which we were having every night for weeks. So far it’s been great. If I have to update this I will but it’s like 1/3 the price of the cheapest, nice mattress you can get so it’s doing it’s job regardless. Nice to know it has a warranty and it was able to be slept on the night of, the box said that your body head actually helps it form and expand. It is very cushy so if you don’t like that then this is not for you but I love it! ... show more
