We spent 5K on a foam mattress set marketed as healing for back pain sufferers. The foam sinks. It was difficult to easily turn or to jump out of bed. The foam caused us so much discomfort and we woke with aches. Not wanting to replace the set (options start at 1K and best replacements are around 3500-5500!!) we searched for a mattress pad solution. I read reviews on all available pads. I learned that many wool pads contain DIRTY wool which makes users ill. I learned of numerous companies which trick consumers. This pad seemed to be a good fit for our troubles according to most reviews. I worried after reading that there was a smell. When the pad arrived my heart sank because it is thin, I could not imagine it to be supportive for additional firmness. I was thrilled to see it arrives in a cotton carrying case. The pad smelled lovely to me, no odd wool scent as another user mentioned. I am very sensitive to smells. It was easy to place on bed, and it is secured by straps. I was so happy to be able to lift it and place it myself, as I am older with physical challenges. The first night on the pad I knew right away it solved our issues. The pad provides enough support so that we can turn comfortably in bed without being affected by that awful foam. We can jump out of bed again and the strange morning aches are gone. I am so sooooooooo pleased with this purchase.

I was talked into getting a "firm" mattress by the salesperson because he said it would be easier to just "add" a topper to handle my neck/shoulder pain from 3 cervical spine herniations. And he was right...a 3" memory foam topper did work for my neck and shoulder pain. But because the mattress/topper combination was now too soft for my lower back, I could barely stand up in the mornings. I then saw another review that said this wool topper could add just a small amount of softness OR firmness to your mattress situation. Sounded too good to be true, but it is! Just enough firmness on the top of the memory foam and now my lower back is happy...and I still have enough soft "give" for my shoulders & neck situation. Fluffs up nice. Made well. Can't say enough good things about this product. Would recommend for anyone.

Loved this topper! It's not going to fundamentally change the feel of your mattress (it's only an inch and a half), but it offers just a little bit of cushion, it's pleasant to sleep on with excellent temperature control. On a cold night it feels as cozy as an extra blanket, and it's also the best way to sleep on a hot night - not frosty-cool to the touch or anything, but just quietly pulling away moisture, not getting sweaty, remaining the same temperature and not overheating all night long. Secondary use: I folded it over to sleep on the couch and it's a really great mini couch mattress. It's easy to just tuck the elastics out of the way. Stray observations: - It started out a bit flat but within a couple of days rose to the full 1.5". - It started out noisy/crinkly like a new duvet, but the sound subsided within a couple of days. - NO ODOR WHATSOEVER, not even at first. I've tried a LOT of wool options and I'm very sensitive to smells, but this one just smells like nothing, just the way I want it!

Ok, so I spent about 2 weeks researching and looking at different mattress toppers before deciding on this one. Right out of the package I could see it was a quality item, nice fabric and stitching. I already have a very high density foam mattress topper and this was to help regulate the heat from that topper. My husband wanted something to help him feel warmer and I wanted something that would breathe better so I didn't feel like I was in a sweatbox. Viola! so far this is doing the trick. Two things, 1. We have not noticed any difference in how our foam topper is working (it is a temperature sensitive high density foam) and 2. We are feeling a better temperature, staying warm, but not feeling too warm...it's already cold where we live. Overall I give this 5 stars, and although it was a bit pricey, I looked at a lot, and I mean a lot of other toppers. I like that this one is washable too.

If you are expecting a real softening of your mattress, look for something else. It does give a slight different feeling to the mattress, but only slight, I kind of wish I splurged on a thicker one. What I do like about it is it says it's washable, is not too heavy or bulky and does not have an odor AT ALL. I am very very sensitive to smells and this does not smell in any way. I have a Sleep Number that I should have returned (any softening by releasing air just makes you feel like you are sinking in a hole) which I have added an organic latex pad on top of, still too hard, and now this on the top of that. What I like about my latex pad is that it helps with allergies and I am hoping this wool will continue as it says it is dust mite resistant, so that I do like. You may like over a memory foam mattress if you want to block the smell or "sinking" feeling or don't like hotness of MF. To me this is not really cool but it is cooler than MF. I also hate the smell of MF. I have only had a few days.

Wool to combat hot flashes - who'da thunk it? We've been using this topper about a week. Amazingly, I have not had a bedding-induced hot flash since. It's nice and thick, very comfortable to sleep on, and does not reflect my body heat back at me. It also takes care of "cold flashes" and allows me to sleep comfortably with a lighter cotton blanket, staving off an eventual hot flash from the top. I really like the smooth cotton cover encasing whole thing. Sheets slip on and off easily. Not itchy. I thought this had four corner elastic bands, but it turns out to have a long elastic band across one end, while the other end has two corner bands. I was worried that the corner elastic would come off easily, but no issues so far. Very happy with this purchase. Sleeping through the night again.
