I purchased two replacement cables - the first one was a single round cable, much like the new Vive cable. Complete garbage - twists like a Gordian knot and headset link failed after 2 or 3 months. If you need a replacement wire for your OG Vive this one works great, I have had it since end of 2022, and its worked great since.

    • Didn't last a week before some would consider ruined.
My original cable hit the point of dying and gave me red static and white screens. I got this cable to replace it and in a week the red static was back granted, it wasn't as bad, but now three months later its to the point where I need to replace it, overall poor quality when the original cable lasted me years of constant use. Also the plugs are not ordered correctly in the cable so one is always going to be reaching over another and ruining itself. Do not get unless you have no other option. Adding an edit to this, thought that maybe the port itself was starting to wear down. Nope, it was in fact the poor quality of the cable, once again, do not get this cable. ... show more

worked well as a full time vr content creator when my headset died i needed something to get me back up and running quickly and this worked well, however I'm noticing after frequent use it likes to tangle on itself pretty heavily which makes it super annoying not a deal breaker as u can just stretch the cord out just a bit cumbersome is all. other then that it works as intended and well . ... show more

This was exactly what I needed. I suspected the cable was causing issues with my Vive's display. I was worried it was the headset, but after I bought this it works perfectly now! I am much more careful of the cable. My original cable got pinched by my desk chair a few times, so that must have been the cause of the issue. My Cable after around 4-5 Months started disconnecting over and over (This is past the Return Date) I have diagnosed it as a broken portion right where the cable hangs off the deluxe audio strap cable guide, so my brand new cable has just gotten to an unusable state at this point, it should be fine otherwise but for the reviews showing it with the Deluxe Audio Strap I'd expect it to work for a while as now I have no headset ): ... show more

    • Another reason that the 2016 Vive is still the work mule of the VR world.
this product not only gave me better refresh times than a refurbished link cable that i purchased when i got the headset (i bought it used in 2021 The oe link cable was already done) it has very little stutter. i have a halfway decent set up. Ryzen 9 5900x RTX 3060 32 Gb Ram and not only does it keep a relatively good fps at around 70-110fps on lower end vr titles the link cable keeps up only at most letting around 10ms of actual lost frames when it gets really intense. Best and maybe only bang for your buck for the OG Vive rn ... show more
