  • Crash is back
Platform For Display: PlayStation 4 Edition: Crash
The Skylanders Imaginators game itself is pretty fun. Good amount of content. But if you're buying this specifically for Crash Bandicoot like I did, you will not be disappointed. So much time and care was put into Crash and Cortex along with the standalone Crash level "Thumpin Wumpa Islands" with tons of references hidden about only true Crash fans will get. Along with all the in game Crash content, you also get the two Crash and Cortex figures that look absolutely incredible. They feel very high quality and detailed, making them perfect to put on display when you aren't playing. All in all, this is a great comeback for the Bandicoot and if you're a Crash fan you won't be disappointed. ... show more

This Skylanders game is nothing amazing, it can be boring if you want to play with your children or as an adult but as a Skylanders game it does the job right and can entertain your children and find some form of use for physical toys but is not a big thing. Now if you came for the Crash Bandicoot figure it is nice to have him back but it works as any other skylander and its nothing special, probably just a to see something new for crash which is nothing great just okay to see, so if you want to have something to entertain your children with go ahead, if you do it for crash, is not a big deal the remasters are better and to have a nice time i think you better get other games. ... show more

  • Great Sensei figures! So so game play...
Platform For Display: PlayStation 4 Edition: Crash
Skylanders Imaginators Crash Bandicoot Edition Pre-order the Bandicoot Starter Edition along with the 8-pack Sensei Skylanders and 5-pack Sensei Villains, and rounding off with Kaos and Observatory Adventure pack. The Sensei toys are well designed and well made, the game, well, it’s a mix bag… I've played all 5 previous Skylander games and this one a bit lack luster- in the 'gimmick' department. Creating your own character? Many games out there already have this feature- albeit limited in some capacity- but included in the character creation in the beginning of the game. But what's more agitating is the fact that the game wants you to buy and spend even more money in the in-game micro transaction to the get the rare creation parts to build your 'legendary' character, as if they didn't get enough money from us for buying the toy figures already. And the irony was that I beat the game with just the Sensei Skylanders only because they were so fun to play with- right out of the box. I didn't even bothered with the character creation aspect of the game; which was supposed to be the highlight of this Skylander game, let along use any of the creation crystals, which also cost an additional $10 a pop for different ones! And Kaos as the main Antagonist again? Creativity much? Now the Pros of the game- I really like the new Sensei Skylanders, each one of them is unique and play quite differently. Some are weak but make up in the speed department; Aurora and Ember are fast. While tanks such as Tri-tip and Hood Sickle are slow but powerhouse in attacks. But my favorites are definitely Crash and Chopscotch. Their attacks are fun to execute, quick, and varied in long and short range attacks. The enemies are just as fun and whacky, especially the mid-bosses, and, the new Doomlanders! Each Doomlander is based on a Battle Class (the 10 classes you get to choose when creating your own Skylander). They even have their own 'Voltron-esque' transformation intro when first introduced (go to my profile for my YouTube link to watch their videos), then the Doomlanders would say something meathead-ish in the end :D The story is pretty much meeh, as it is the same old Kaos trying to take over the world, again... for the Nth times. But at least Flynn was not the main Protagonist, but relegated to side quests only. Boom! Demoted! Spyro and Stealth Elf have taken over as the main Protagonists/Narrators. The main story mode was on the short side; each level seems shorter compared to previous games. Maybe I'm just getting too prolific with Skylander games :D But there are TONS of side quests, hidden stages, items to collect, and mini attractions all over the M.A.P.- this is the new Overworld map in Skyland. And racing mode is back from SuperChargers, if you liked it in the past, this is a welcoming addition. Anyhow, I am disappointed in you Activision. I own every single Skylanders from Spyro to SuperCharger (excluding the rare variant ones), but to charge us more for creation parts through micro-transaction, as well as the cost for the crystals- there’s just some much to buy and is breaking our wallet! I might just skip the next Skylanders altogether. Or move on to Lego Dimensions. Err wait, that's another money guzzler... I am such a sucker for these toy-to-life (sigh…) Visit my profile to see more of my toys and toys-to-life reviews and unbox. Cheers~ ... show more

  • Pocketful of imaginators
Platform For Display: PlayStation 4 Edition: Crash
Another installment is here. Serena like I just spent the better end of a mortgage payment on these darn things, but just as sure as tax season, black Friday and Birthdays, it is September and Activision wants their money. Every year for for years a new group of these little guys hits the market. I have to say the game play is the most sophisticated to date, as they put a significant amount of content into this one. I have not tried my trap crystals with it, but normal guys did prove to be forward compatible as advertised. Making my"own" Skylander proceed to be very easy and although there are a ton of variants to make, it feels like it somehow could be more fulfilling if there was more to it. What they could add to make it more fulfilling is harder to pinpoint, but they did do a great job this round with the imaginators. ... show more
