When using my laser, I would always get to the pin distances. I use this to find middle, front, and rear distances. Depending on conditions I can take extra club or less club when needed. Even layups are much easier. Hazard distances to front and rear. Just has been a great tool to have.

It is with a heavy heart that I have decided to throw my SkyCaddie SX400 into my "useless electronic gadgets" bin. (I purchased it through Amazon (April 2, 2023) to replace my old, failing Garmin golf GPS) It is beautiful; great design and manufactured with noble materials, good mapping software (a jewel!!!) I even bought a a very sturdy ($ 40.00) bracket to keep it secure and in clear view through all the bumps. I thoroughly enjoyed playing in my Club's 2 courses for about 1 year (my golf buddies did too) BUT THEN: it locked up, demanding for me to pay for an update (there had been no changes in my courses) Since my retirement I have not traveled to play golf like I used to (I have played on 14 of the "TOP 100 GOLF COURSES IN THE WORLD" published in Golf Magazine 2023-24). I REFUSE TO PAY A USER FEE. Even Microsoft alows me to use my Windows 10 PC, although it will soon stop supporting that version. I will have to go back to my trusty Bushnell range finder (it requires a new battery only every few years) ... show more

Purchased this new SkyCaddie to replace one that was lost. This has a bigger screen, and seems easier to use, AND appears to have a better battery; it doesn’t need to be recharged as often.

Too much info crowded on the screen and difficult to see. Pairing was very difficult and had to call customer support. Appeared to provide adequate yardage, but numbers are to small to see on main screen. One positive, the case was sturdy and felt good in your hand. When you look at the negatives, and there are many, and toss in having to pay a yearly fee, there are much better golf GPS units out there for yours hard earn bucks.
