  • These aren't it.
I bought these to replace my broken Jaybird Vista's because they were much more affordable. They appeared to have all the features I was looking for, but 10 months into using them almost daily, I'm just over them. Starting with the good: Affordable for name brand buds Sound quality is good. No complaints with battery life. I listen with one ear bud at a time and can usually get 6ish hours of solid listening before needing switch out and re-charge that bud. Now, on to the bad... The wingtips aren't really "attached" so they constantly come off the earbud which essentially renders them useless, and the buds are constantly slipping out of my ears. Wingtips were one of my MUSTS when I was looking for new buds, so these are an epic failure in that area. The touch controls.... an accidental brush against the earbud can throw you into ambient mode, pause, turn them off, etc. If you don't download the app it's nearly impossible to get the sequence of taps just right to turn off ambient mode. There is no way to disable this touch feature. Syncing used to work well, however, I am no longer able to listen to both earbuds at the same time (yes I did all the troubleshooting tips offered by Skull Candy), and the buds no longer automatically pair to my device like they used to when I pulled them out of the case. This requires extra fiddling around with settings on my phone, which I don't always have time for while at work. Overall, for the price, I can't recommend these even though they aren't the worst. I'll be saving up some money to replace my spendier Jaybird Vistas, and passing these along to someone else. ... show more

  • Great sound quality
Great sound quality, great battery life in the ear buds and charging case. I just wish the ear buds would pair back to themselves easier. I find that every now and then they unpaid from one another and have to be reset to work together again.

  • These work great
Bluetooth Range: They don't have much of a range compared to my previous earbuds (Onn brand) If you need to leave your phone somewhere and walk a short distance away, you don't get too far before losing the audio, which isn't a big deal. Android also did an update and now there is a function where you have to select to play both earbuds at the same time, sometimes they aren't synced playing the same audio at the same time-but turning them off and back on again generally fixes the issue. I'm not sure if that is a Android issue or the product issue though. Functionality: I still haven't gotten used to the tap feature instead of having buttons. 1 tap turns the volume up/down and 2 taps pauses the audio (and also answers phone calls), but sometimes it seems like I just end up turning the volume all the way up/down before I just pick up my phone and pause it in the app. I just haven't found and remembered the sweet spot yet. Lately, they sometimes haven't been connecting to my phone, so I'll have to re-pair them to the device. I'm not sure what has changed that caused this as I didn't have a problem when I first purchased them. UPDATE: I still have have issues with the tapping functionality. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't - which is quite annoying. Battary Life: I have yet to have any issues with the battsry life. I use these almost daily at work (at about 3-4 hours per day) and only have to charge them maybe once every 1 or 2 weeks. Sound: I use these almost daily listening to podcasts at work and watching movies at home. The sound is great and the battery lasts quite a long time. They cancel out surrounding sound really well and the ambient mode helps hear your surroundings (basically like a hearing aid). I haven't had any complaints from anyone not being able to hear me when I am on the phone with them. Extras: They do come with a little add-on that helps keep the buds in your ears, but they do end up causing my ears to ache after wearing them for a while. As long as I take them out every once in a while and give my ears a break, it is just fine. ... show more

  • Convenient with long battery life.
I love these things. I recently purchased a second pair after wearing my old ones out working in a coal power plant and outside with them for over a year. I am no sound quality connoisseur, but these are more than adequate for me. I usually use them to listen to YouTube videos and audiobooks. My only real complaint with them is that from time to time the Bluetooth gets a little janky and you have to reset and repair them, I have that problem with almost all Bluetooth devices though. ... show more

  • Works perfectly for a while, degrades over time
I bought two sets of these, one in 2021 for me, and one in 2022 for my wife. I don't know exactly when it started, but I noticed that the right earbud started sounding really quiet. The volume was maxed out, and they were properly connected, but the issue persists. It bugged me so much that I started using my wife's set (she prefers the kind that goes around your neck, so she wasn't using them anyway). After a little while with her set, the left earbud started sounding really quiet as well. By the time the issue started getting worse, it was already too late to use the 1-year warranty. That's the most disappointing part. Skullcandy used to have the best limited lifetime warranty out there, now they only give you a year. It makes me wary about trying any of Skullcandy's more expensive products. I'm worried they'll just degrade after the warranty is up. These are still the most affordable earbuds for the quality you receive. The sound is great, the noise cancelling is more than adequate, the battery life is really good. I use mine every day, so it's a shame that they don't hold up over time, and that the warranty does basically nothing at this point. If it was just one set having issues, I wouldn't be so disappointed, but both sets had the same problem back-to-back with no warranty to resolve these defects. I'd still recommend trying Skullcandy's products. I just can't give them more stars. The price to quality is top notch. I've been using their products for years and they're not all lemons. But a 1-year warranty is not long enough for proper coverage. ... show more
