    • Indoor Fun Keeps Kids Moving
We live in Florida, and with these record temperatures, it's too hot for the kids to go outside and run and play. At the same time, we don't want them stuck on screens all day. I ordered this mat to hopefully give the kids some motivation to get moving inside. The mat takes four AA batteries. After we got it working, the kids really did have fun. It's perfect for ages 5, 6, and 7. Younger ones and older ones lose interest after just a little while. Pros: it's got fun colors, lights, and gets the kids moving. Cons: the mat is a bit flimsy and may not hold up well for a long time, the buttons can be a little hard to push and the directions are a bit lacking. This mat reminded me of a kid version of Simon Says & Twister. It is a lot of fun and will keep the kids active. The mat requires 3-AA batteries. Once turned on, the machine will go thru 7 levels. It increases in difficulty. It will show you different items to step on and once done it provides you another. My main dislike is that the voice is repetitive. Have purchased few dance mats. They're all fun and have subtle differences. I am not a particular fan of the cones in this. Would have preferred the square regions for landing zones. However, I would prefer a dance mat any day over most other gifts. And this one is no different. Lots of fun and different games that can be played on this. Definitely recommend it ... show more

I thought this would be really cheesy and not work very well, but was pleasantly surprised. The different difficulty levels help keep the grandkids of various ages still interested in trying to get better. The little kids just love the music and dancing. A dance mat without a TV may be a hard sell, but this one has some variety that may keep it more interesting. There are seven modes to play, though not all of them are games necessarily. All settings can be chosen by stepping on the start button, but the only way to turn it off is to actually flip a switch on the unit. The mat does seem durable while still being responsive. It doesn't take much force from your foot for a valid input. Menu options are easy to cycle through for a child. And the difficulties range so that a younger child won't find it too frustrating, and an older child can speed things up for a challenge. So get the rechargeable kind because this dance mat will get a lot of use. It is fun for the whole family and keeps the kids off the electronic screens. This mat is non-slip so you don't have to worry about it skidding all over the floor or causing falls. There are four dancing challenges for different levels.
