1yr old has fun with this banging on the bongos for a minute here and there and rolling the ball around. However, it is not child friendly to open the drums from a closed ball form or close them to a ball from a drum form. The flap that you have to hook is small and rubber and you have to really pull and wiggle to get it to fit and lock in the hole when closing or work and wiggle to get it off of the hole to open it. I think this toy is so adorable. I bought it for my niece but it arrived used I think. It’s not connected to the packaging on either side and one of the plastic pieces that would have been used to secure it to the package somehow got inside the drum. Otherwise it’s in good shape…but I didn’t order a used one and it’ll be uncomfortable to gift it when it’s clearly not a new item. ... show more

I have a 7 month old nephew who lately has been patting his hand down on everything. I thought I would get him these drums to see if he'd like them. He LOVES them!! It's so much fun for him. It's also nice that you can connect them into a ball that rolls around and makes rattling sounds from the seeds inside. Highly recommend! ... show more

My little guy loves his Skip Hop Beet Box and Avocado Guitar, so it made sense to complete the set with the watermelon drums. While they're very cute and durable, they're rather uninteresting. They don't make a very appealing sound when struck, and there is very little about this product that captures the interest of a little learner the same way the other toys do.     • Watermelon is not as fun as guitar
The watermelon doesn’t drum at all. I get more of a drum sound from a plastic Togo container. I thought it would play a drum sound or have music like the guitar. The guitar is so fun, the watermelon is a pass
