I tested SkinMD at my local compounding pharmacy and had to order some from Amazon. I have extremely delicate and dry skin, and it’s difficult to balance products I use for hydration. Aquaphor and similar products are typically considered the “holy grail” for creating a barrier, but they always left my skin, especially my face, feeling gross and sticky. SkinMD is the solution and new holy grail. I have Ehler’s Danlos Syndrome, an auto-immune disease, and zinc deficiency. These health conditions mean that it’s hard for my skin to heal, and I’m especially prone to various infections. Maintaining healthy skin is impossible without a solid skincare routine. SkinMD has been incredible for those issues, and a little goes a long way! Because my skin is so sensitive and dry, I use SkinMD after applying a rich hand cream, body lotion, and facial skincare products. It’s pretty amazing for my face, and I haven’t woken up with hydrated and soft skin like this in a long time! My usual hand cream is very rich and leaves a greasy feeling, but putting SkinMD over it reduces the greasy feeling and leaves my hands feeling super soft and protected. I love products that are multi-purpose and can actually be used on all parts of my body! It’s annoying and expensive to have a lot of separate products for face, hands, and body. SkinMD is effective for all of those areas, and I’m so excited I found this. I’ll definitely be sharing my new beauty secret with everyone!

I work as a massage therapist and receptionist at a spa (about 15 hrs per week per job), which sees me washing my hands and forearms with soap 20+ times per day. I'd given up on using lotion on my hands throughout the day for fear of transferring product onto a client who might be allergic to ingredients in my lotion and because of greasy transference onto phones, keyboards, and documents at the front desk. In the winter however, the skin around my nails gets so dry that it cracks at the edges of my thumbs, making massage very painful. Two days after using this lotion 5-6 times per day, the dryness and tightness of the skin on my hands was no longer painful. I was pretty worried, though, because this lotion is rather expensive and I didn't want to go through a $30 bottle that quickly, even if it was worth it. A week later, I only had to use the lotion 2-3 times per day (usually morning and before bed) to achieve the same hydrated feeling. Even after washing my hands all day and not applying any lotion, my skin won't crack! Best of all, this lotion dries down in a matter of seconds, so I can use it throughout my day if I want to. There's absolutely no residue or greasy transference onto clothing, phones, keyboards, paper, anything! I keep a 4 oz bottle in my purse and a 16 oz bottle on my nightstand. I brought it up to my dad, who struggles with eczema and cracking so bad that he has multiple band-aids on his bleeding fingers all winter, and it's helped him too. I'll never be without this stuff again!

I was really excited to try the Skin MD Natural Shielding Lotion after reading the many reviews from others who suffer from various skin ailments like myself and have used this product. I know how challenging it can be to find a product that can work well for our sensitive skin. It's always a trial and error. Thankfully enough, this product hasn't broken me out or caused any allergies of any sort to happen which I'm happy about. It's a nice lightweight formula that isn't sticky or greasy and has no fragrance whatsoever. This 4oz. was perfect for me to try out for the first time most especially since I can carry it with me if I have to leave the house. It worked great for anytime after sanitizing my hands. I also used this after showering or anytime after washing my face in the morning and before bed. The directions do say to apply every 2-8 hours until moisture improves which I had to do often for my face. Initially, it took a while to see improvement. However as the days went by during the week, I did notice the areas where dryness was apparent, were subtly softened. If I wasn't consistent on applying this every 2-8 hours, I would't have seen a difference. That's for sure. It also helped to lessen the redness and irritation I had prior to using this. Overall, i'd say it's a good product that does help most especially if you have skin irritations or flare ups like me. Yes, the value can be a bit pricey, but the benefits are worth it.

I am a stay-at-home mom, which means for years I have had to deal with washing, cleaning, cooking which plays havoc with the skin on my hands. I've tried every available lotion and cream in stores to no avail. They either absorbed right away and left my skin feeling just as dry, or just sat on the top of my skin leaving me slimy. In anticipation of the holiday season (where my skin splits and bleeds from doing my extensive outdoor Xmas lights) I began using Gloves in a Bottle to create a barrier between my hands and external irritants but even with reapplying every 3-4 hours, my skin still starting peeling when I began my Xmas lights. I read the reviews for Skin MD and thought, "Why not?" After three days of applying it every couple of hours, my skin looked healthy, all the peeling was gone, and better yet, after not using any for several hours and washing my hands a few times, my skin still felt soft and smooth. This looks thin like it's not going to moisturize, but it absorbs quickly, and feels just like soft skin, not greasy at all. At night after this absorbs, I like to follow with Honey Guy waterblocker skin cream.
