Description

From cutting shelving to mitering trim, the SKIL 5080 7-1/4 inch Circular saw is a great entry-level saw in the home workshop. The 13 amp motor has the power and performance that you need, and the improved dust blower keeps line of cut free from sawdust for accurate cuts. An adjustable bevel up to 51 degrees, with positive stop at 45 degrees, lets you make a wider variety of cuts. Blade changes are easy with the Spindle Lock and blade wrench, stored on the tool. The 5080 includes an 18 tooth carbide blade.

This is my first circular saw, and I have to say, the experience has been a pleasant one. Everything from adjusting the cutting depth and angles to installing the blade was straightforward and easy to understand. The saw powers up quickly, and the cutting action is smooth and efficient. For the first time, I was able to make a clean, straight cut. I used to rely on a jigsaw for the occasional home project, but this saw has made a huge difference. After a few uses,(less than 10) I became concerned about all of the smoke pouring from my dull blade. Definitely, have a spare blade on hand. Otherwise, it is the same old quality brand. Not too heavy to support while cutting, the blade lines up perfectly with the guide line once tightened. I dropped it before installing the blade, no damage, not even a scratch.
