Description

From cutting shelving to mitering trim, the SKIL 5080 7-1/4 inch Circular saw is a great entry-level saw in the home workshop. The 13 amp motor has the power and performance that you need, and the improved dust blower keeps line of cut free from sawdust for accurate cuts. An adjustable bevel up to 51 degrees, with positive stop at 45 degrees, lets you make a wider variety of cuts. Blade changes are easy with the Spindle Lock and blade wrench, stored on the tool. The 5080 includes an 18 tooth carbide blade.

I got this on sale and was pleased with the price. This is a basic workhorse saw that does what it's supposed to do. The only thing you have to assemble is to add the blade. I wish that it had already been done for you, but it wasn't that hard. It comes with instructions and a blade wrench. I suggest putting that in a safe place because it's easy to lose and you'll need it when you go to change the blade. ... show more

I am not a big friend of the Skil brand due to bad experiences in the past, but I was encouraged to buy this saw for my workshop because of its power and low price and I was pleasantly surprised. When I have it in my hands I notice that it is very heavy and that is a very positive point since this tells me that it is a very powerful saw and for those of us who work with wood that is all we need a lot, a lot, a lot of power and This saw has it. Now, when it comes to cutting, it is necessary to have experience since its shoe is metal and not aluminum like the high-end ones, but it is obvious that if this is a mid-range shoe, this is how its materials will be. But in conclusion it seems like a good saw and I was surprised by its power. I hope this becomes a good experience with the skil brand and not like in the past I hope this information has been useful to you... Blessings. Al momento de tenerla en mis manos noto que es muy pesada y eso es un punto muy positivo ya que esto me dice que es una sierra de gran potencia y para los que trabajamos con madera es todo lo que necesitamos mucha, mucha , mucha potencia y esta sierra la tiene. Ahora bien a la hora de cortar es necesario tener experiencia ya que su zapata es metálica y no en aluminio como las de gama alta pero es obvio que si esta es gama media así serán sus materiales. Pero en conclusión me parece una buena sierra y me ha dejado sorprendido su potencia.     • WOW! Great Saw for the price!
WOW, it cuts like butter! I'm impressed! I have some experience; I use to be a carpenter for 6 years when i was younger. I've used all kinds of saws in the past. Skil, Makita, Ryobi, and Milwaukee. I must say Skil and Makita have always been good to me as a professional carpenter. That's what I've always used. I got this 13 amp Skil saw to replace my 13 amp Ryobi saw (big mistake) that went dead on me after only 3 years. I'm so glad i went with Skil again, this saw is superior to the ryobi. I will be using this new Skil saw to cut mainly wolmanized 2x8's and 2x10's pieces of wood to replace our lake house dock. You are going to love this saw. A+++ ... show more
