Value is fantastic, it works great! The only issue I had was I bought it to use with a 1" round over bit that had a 1/2" shank. The hole on the baseplate on this is too small to allow the bit to recess in so I had to add a piece of plywood on the bottom to get the bit in the position I wanted. Plenty of power. Rock solid. Very accurate. Lets you use 1/4" as well as 1/2" bits. Easy to use. Feedback controlled electronic speed controller (you want this). No complaint whatsoever!

This is a great router. The RPMs could be a little stronger, but for the average work its fantastic. A couple things I really like. It's so easy to put the bits in, adjusting the depth of your cut is soooo easy and the best thing for me was the guide. Truly makes any cut so easy and true. Love it! It’s great! just not enough power as I would like. I have PC router same amp and has more power. Almost sounds like it about to die when I rabbet some frames for a bar back. So I specifically use the PC for rabbeting out wood. I like that it does have lights so you can really see the piece. The clear plastic is great idea and can hook up a shop vac to catch all dust and cutting. (Modified a attachment to fit it). So definitely be cautious. I wouldn’t rely on it to do cabinet doors rails, stiles or panels. Just not a whole of power. Pine,alder softer woods runs decent. Harder woods maple, oak, walnut. You can tell just by running it. 4 stars for the price and the extra gimmicks they add to this router makes it worth it! Overall I use it on almost every project I do and it’s holding up so far. Something worth noting about this router is how solidly engineered it feels. Right from unboxing, you're holding a heavy, but well-balanced piece of machinery in your hands. The depth adjuster and locks are well-engineered and easy to work without being something you'll hit by accident. The power and speed switches have a good feel to them and the operation indicator light is easy to see even in a bright room. All of the mechanical parts fit perfectly, and the soft start feature helps the tool from kicking out when you start it, particularly at higher speeds. I was able to get a new bit mounted and round-over the edge of a piece of wood very quickly. The handles have a great shape and feel to them, and there's great visibility of the cutting area with the LEDs shining down in there. For an around-the-house hobbyist, this does a great job at a very nice price. A case or bag would have been a nice addition, but its absense probably kept it under $100. I also really wish the power switch was something other than a horizontally-operated toggle switch. I would have preferred something more easily visible, like an up/down switch or a push/pull like on Craftsman tools, although if you're mounting this on a table, that doesn't really matter. ... show more

On lifting this router out of the box I sensed it was quality from the weight of the tool. This tool is heavy because most parts are metal and am sure the motor windings are also substantial. Upon using it the tool ran great and had the led lights so you can see the work. Have always told friends that the best tool I have ever had was the Skil Worm drive circular saw,,, got to say this is now going to be my second best!!!
