We got a Dollar Tree sketch book and the paper is thin newsprint. Colors don't pop and looks terrible. This sketch book is the opposite. Great paper quality, art pops even if just a pencil. Color looks amazing. Awesome!

Its small size makes it good for carrying in traveling art kit. Despite what the product page claims, the pages are a little thin for really involved work. At 68 lbs., it's really best for quick sketching or planning more elaborate works.

This is a great sketchbook. The sheets are thick enough to color/draw with pencils and not have grooves transfer to the paper below, but not thick enough to prevent run-through from permanent/alcohol markers. The cover protects the sheets and can be flipped to the back. I specifically love this sketchbook for traveling since it's small enough to fit in a small bag. Overall, this is a decent sketchbook that transports well.

There are a number of things that I like about this sketchbook. Firstly, it is made with quality material. Whether I sketch on the pages with gel ink, marker, or pencil lead, the media doesn't bleed through the paper. Because of the paper quality, I can sketch, write, or draw on both sides of the sheet with minimal distraction. The sheets have proven durable - withstanding the sketching and erasing that I've subjected it to. The book is bound with sturdy wiring that keeps my sheets together, allowing me to track my drawing progress. I like the fact that the pages are perforated and can tear easily when I need them to. Finally, I like the lightweight, compact size of this book, making it very portable. This sketchbook is a great value for its price.

Artist household here. Nightly, I draw with the kids before bedtime. Rather than paper being sprawled everywhere, I decided to order this as a personal sketchbook and it has proven a great decision! The paper holds graphite and charcoal well and is receptive to blending from a stump, yet doesn't smear between pages. This paper quality is hard to find, and the size is great for doing detailed work that you don't want to spend weeks on. Also, the pages are perforated so you can tear them out to share or frame. Overall this is a good gift for an artist, and I'm glad I gifted myself.
