Excellent Speakers! I have a marine Pyle 400 watt amplifier (4x100). I'm not sure of the RMS but I'm sure it's not too high seeing this is a very inexpensive amplifier and not documented. Nevertheless these speaker are just what I wanted for my 20 foot boat. I got a .flac file and put my head unit to 75% volume while gain was set to 0 on the amp. I just eased the gain up until it started to break up and then backed the gain off a tad after that; easy peasy! You can't go wrong with these speakers, very heavy magnet, they produce good highs and lows for a 2-way speaker Oh and always use 16 gauge shielded wire to your speakers with clean secure connections ... show more

Bought these for a rigid inflatable boat that I have to go along a roto molded cooler that doubles as a bench seat and small storage. After installing the speakers along the head unit and small digital amp I decided to give the rig a short test just to make sure everything was properly hooked up, it turned into a 4 hour listening session with my kids jumping into the pool just to enjoy the sounds. Around the 2 hour mark the mids and highs balanced nicely and opened up the speakers. First thing, these things can play LOUD without any distortion at full range if they're property powered, in my case they're powered @ 90 watts RMS at 4 ohms from a small digital amp (kenwood), I can't even crank them all the way since at 3/4 I know the whole neighborhood was listening to my playlist. The base is fast and tight and the mid to high separation is surprisingly good for an 8 inch speaker, I guess the coaxial design helps a lot in that sense. At this price range you will be hard pressed to find anything that holds a candle to these, when compared to more expensive brands out there you won't be able to tell the difference unless you're expecting B&W sound out on the water which is the exact opposite to a controlled listening environment. All and all I'm very happy with these and glad to see that there are still companies that still put out products at very fair price points, just remember, powering these properly is key to getting the most out of them. ... show more

Had DB drive Moto’s with a DB drive class D mono 500 watt amp for about 2 years and replaced them with these speakers but keep the DB drive amp and I’m here to say these speakers are 10 times better that the DB drives in my rzr they sound amazing
