Well lets get one thing right off the bat. Our Cat / cats are spoiled. Why else would you buy a heated :HEATED CAT WINDOW PERCH? I loved the idea of a heated cat perch. Although my cat sleeps with me 80% of the time and I live in California and it doesn't get real cold. In fact I never close that window year round . The K&H HEATED CAT WINDOW PERCH: is well made. Super soft. It sets up easy. It is also very solid. I never had a chance to ever try the heater since I sent the perch back to Amazon. My cat wouldn't get on it. In all fairness ; I left it up for a week and my cat was miserable not having his original perch. It is really my fault. When I moved in a year ago the dresser fit perfect at window level but doesn't look aesthetically pleasing. My dresser is not centered and looks odd. My cat, for some reason, can't see this aesthetic quality in the room and frankly could care less. Mind you . My cat is an outdoor feral Cat. I want him staying indoors since I do have coyote's. But he is very coyote savvy living outdoor for months before he adopted me. So I will buy a K&H heater this winter and stick it under his old netted bed my sister made him a few years ago. Some things don't change. But my Cat is not like most cats. It is feral. It doesn't come up to 99% people or animals. It is on guard 24 / 7. It is totally aware of it's surrounding. It doesn't eat any wet cat food, fresh chicken, fish etc. So I am not surprised on being picky on a cat bed. I tried. My other cats would have loved this unit and I would image your cat will as well. Yes. It is expensive but you will remember the quality of this K&H perch long after you remember how much you paid. Isn't your cat worth it. Yep - That why he got his perch back and well; I just have to live with the dresser slightly off. Good Luck To You ! ... show more

Our very picky cats love this thing. They are very particular about what they give their attention to, and our Tabby, Willow, couldn't even wait for us to install it before deciding to try it out. Our other baby, Sweatshirt, was a little scared of it at first but now he loves to nap on it. They both love looking out the window, so I am glad they have somewhere comfortable to rest while they bird/people watch. This was very easy to install and was sturdy enough to hold our chonky cats. The size is also perfect to fit them (they are both adult cats, 8-10 pounds each). I also like how easy the cover is to remove for when we have to wash it. I purchased two so that they wouldn't fight over it, and I'm glad I did. They are both very happy with the purchase! ... show more

My cat has one for 10 years same one. My cat weighs 18lbs. The cover was worn bad, the heater in old one still worked. I ordered one without heater cause mine still works after 10years. Great product will always order this a K&H product 👍 👌 👏

So, I ordered this shelf a while ago and ADHD kicked in so here I am half a year later setting it up. Pros: -Easy to follow instructions -Easy to click in the legs, but feels sturdy -Love that there's a non-permanent set-up option as I am a renter -Soft plush cover, cute design -Soft memory foam pad liner Cons -"Hardware" i.e. the hook-and-loop (Velcro) strips were kind of messed up upon arrival. One of them had apparently plaster/wall paint on it (wtf), and the other had been stuck together with the backing in the wrong direction, meaning, no sticky residue on one of the sides of the strips (see pics). I think I may have gotten this open box ("like new" lol) so maybe someone recycled the hook and loops. Whatever... So, given the above con, I didn't want to take the risk using one and a half Velcro strips, especially given that my cats are of the big-boned (chonky) variety. Sooo, I frankensteined the sticky part as much as I could with some heavy duty Velcro command strips I had on hand, as well as double sided glue tape tacky (comes in a roll, $11, also from Amazon). I absolutely covered the back of this thing with Velcro and glue tape and I'm currently weighing it down w some 5lb weights letting it adhere. The good news is it feels very sturdy, and it's laying nice and flush against the wall. We'll see, I'm going to give it 24 hrs before I let one of the chonkers up there, but I'll update this if it stands up well to 17lbs of chaotic cat. UPDATE: Hello! So the shelf has been up for a little over a week now and our thicc boy loves it. My Frankensteined glue tape/Velcro strip mess seems to have done the trick. I definitely recommended this window bed, but I also highly suggest augmenting with additional sticky strips if you're going the non-permanent installation route. ... show more
