I ordered this watch thinking I was getting a time piece made in Denmark, turns out the internal mechanism is made in Japan and the strap is made in China. The packaging looked like it had been opened several times before, the sticker that protects the glass and the back of the watch was not on correctly. The watch looked used and cheaply made. I am a fan of Skagen watches in general so I had pretty high expectations for this one when I ordered it. I believe they were mostly met with just one exception... 1. This is a NICE looking watch. It's slim and sleek with a small profile, and it's elegant enough IMHO to be considered a dress watch. 2. It's easy to adjust to fit your wrist, even when it's on the small side. 3. It's comfortable to wear even for long periods of time. 4. It's not too dainty - feels wider than 40mm even though it is - this is a positive for me as I prefer thicker watch bands. 5. It is stainless steel mesh, which should hold up for a long time. And it's water resistant, though I would not wear this to swim, etc...it's too "nice" for that. BUT...the one thing I don't like about it, and the reason I took off a star: 6. It does not hold a charge for very long. Since it's solar powered, obviously it needs to be somewhere, even if it's indoor light, to charge. I found that if I don't wear it for a couple of days...it's dead. I keep it in a watch display case in my bedroom which is near a window and also below a lamp - which I turn on regularly now in order to try to charge this - and still have this issue. If that issue can be fixed, this would be a solid five star product, no doubt. But the fact that you need to have it constantly exposed to light in order for it to stay charged is kind of a bummer...especially if you are someone who likes to switch out their watches like I am - I'd like to wear this one more as I really DO love the look etc but no point if it's not functioning. ... show more

The Skagen watch is very unique. I love watches and probably have enough so that I don’t wear the same one every day for a month. This one is very colorful, fanciful and fun. It has an espresso (dark brown) leather band and a colorful face. This one does not require batteries (which is a plus) but instead works on solar energy. This watch is also water resistant, but I do not intend to wear it in the shower or swim. Overall, while this is a pricey watch, I think it is worth considering. 4 stars ... show more

As someone with an iPhone and an Apple Watch, it takes a lot to make me even consider giving up my smartwatch (it’s just so hard after you’ve become used to managing your notifications and needing to have your phon in your hand for everything digital or internet-related. This watch is so unique and cool-looking that I am willing to sacrifice wearing my Apple Watch on some days. That is actually high praise coming from me. Ideally, you would want to wear this outdoors for a few hours each day, if possible. However, it seems to be getting enough energy from indoor light. I really, really like this watch and it’s very comfortable for an all-metal band. I did have to adjust the fit, but it’s easy and all you need is a flat head screwdriver (small size, like for electronics or glasses). ... show more

I thought this was an interesting watch. Its fairly light and looks like its built fairly well. However, the watch strap is a little lack luster and I would recommend trying a different strap if you're interested in this watch.
