First off, if your car requires CANBUS, this radio does NOT come with it. Installation was a bit difficult as expected and took about two hours in my F-150. I would recommend having some help when installing this, if you’re not used to doing such things. The colors on the display were bright and crisp. Connected just fine to car play on my phone. The downside is the screen is hard to see in direct sunlight. I did not install the backup camera as the cord was not long enough to go from my tailgate to the dashboard. The touch screen responds well to touch. It is a perfect for those wanting to upgrade from an old school in dash cd player. The sound quality is decent, not like my old radio, but it works and it's an upgrade from the original 2002 factory installed radio. I have also noticed the screen has trouble adjusting and coming to full view when it is super cold, so no more jumping in the truck on a cold morning and blasting my music, while I wait for the vehicle to heat up.

I'll let you in on a little secret as an Amazon reviewer.. A lot of the times we have our biases and expectations before even opening the box. I thought this was going to be a 3 or 4 star item, but I'll do my best to explain why I bumped it up to 5 stars, a rating I generally don't just hand out. First of all, for perspective, my current head unit is a 10 inch android with 8GB of ram and a qled screen, it is ridiculously customized with a bunch of custom scripts and dongles I installed in the dash. I'll also admit that this head unit isn't going to replace that. So why 5 stars? Well, upon pulling it out of the box, I was happy to see that it included mounting tools. Thank you!! Great little extra. I hooked it up to a battery and speakers to run it through tests on my bench, and was impressed right away with how quickly it started up. My head unit takes upwards 30 seconds from a cold start, this one took about 5 seconds. Very quick. Pairing was quick and painless. Wireless android auto here, but it also supports wireless Carplay. The screen was bright and responsive, the colors were rich and vibrant, and the sound quality was, to put it plainly, well beyond what I expected it to be. It was absolutely moving my test speaker with ease. Loud? Well, not ridiculously so, but at the highest volume, it was still clear and not straining. I'll take good sound over obnoxiously loud sound any day. This isn't going to shake your car, but it's not going to get lost in the noise. I can't say I'm a huge fan of android auto itself, but that's not a fault of this head unit. Everything this head unit needed to do, it absolutely handled. If you need a single DIN head unit with modern features, this is a great option. The volume knob feels decisive, nice notching action. The screen looks good, the touch is responsive and the headunit doesn't meander between options. Im not a stereo snob, nor am I easily impressed. I will say that the simple yet decisive execution of what this head unit does won me over. It doesn't do a lot, but what it does, it does very well. Without the bells and whistles, they really polished what it does do, and I genuinely enjoyed my time reviewing this little stereo.

Honestly pretty solid for the price. Install was straightforward if you’ve done a head unit before, and CarPlay fired up immediately with no drama. The 6.36 inch screen looks better than I expected, colors are sharp, touch response is quick, and it doesn’t feel laggy like some cheaper units do. Bluetooth connects fast and stays connected, which is really all I care about day to day. Backup camera works fine and gets the job done. Not luxury quality, but totally usable and a nice bonus that it’s included. Audio is good once you tweak the EQ a bit. Out of the box it’s just okay, but after dialing it in, it sounds solid. The only real knocks: the UI isn’t the most polished thing in the world and the instructions could be clearer. Also wish the screen got a little brighter in direct sunlight. Overall, if you want CarPlay or Android Auto without spending a ton, this is a good value and does what it promises. I’d buy it again for a budget setup.

Once installed and wired correctly, everything worked as expected.
