Works as expected on first test. Does not have a lot of volume but we are using for music in acupuncture treatment room so low volume is ok and actually desirable. Only did a cursory test but seems adequate for our needs. Gave 4 out of 5 for not much amplification. Will update if problems arise.

I purchased this CD Player through Amazon -- Model: SBXo3oC It arrived a couple of days ago and although it plays, I had trouble figuring out how the CD Player works. The instructions leave a lot to be desired. The sound is awesome!! So I put in the time to figure out what the problem is. UPDATE: For the CD Mode: The Instruction sheet should start with this phrase "With the Power Button 'OFF' and then follow the directions on the piece of paper. OTHERWISE - if the CD Play is 'ON', you will need to cycle through AM, FM, to get to the CD player. AND the CD symbol in the window on the front to the CD Player is NOT "CD" it is two horizontal lines = like this = "-- --". Now that I figured all this out, the CD Player is easy to use. Description of how I first dealt with the instructions and what I did to create a work around for the slightly incomplete instructions. Here is my one remaining question --- The first time I used it I pressed the Function button to get past FM and AM the next time I pressed the function button two disconnected, straight, horizontal lines appeared. Since this symbol was not in the Owner's Instructions, I searched through the instructions to see what I might have missed. While doing this, the number 4 appeared in the "window" (the last track on that CD that was currently in the CD Player) - so I choose #1 and it played the first track of the CD. So is the CD function suppose to have two straight horizontal lines as the symbol for CD? NOTE: The button #10 in the instructions - the symbol was so tiny in the instruction that you sent (in several languages) that I had to get a magnifying glass (10X)to see the symbol. At this level of magnification, the symbol was barely readable. This # 10 button is a VERY IMPORTANT - after playing with the CD Player for about an hour - I discovered that IF I did not stop the CD by pressing and Holding the #10 button until the number in the "window" changed, it did not stop the CD AND the CD player stopped working as described in the directions. I very nearly returned this CD Player because the instructions are incomplete and the printing is way too small. ... show more

Bought this for my mom. She likes to listen to music when she is cleaning house or needs some music to go to sleep by. This CD/Radio plays great as the speakers are right in front. The only thing that is hard is when you are selecting a station for music, the knob does not have a pointing arrow on it to indicate where you are when turning the knob to locate a music station. So you have to look at the numbers of the different music stations that are on top of the surface (no big deal) and listen to the music until you find which music station you are looking for or the type of music you want. Singing Wood CD Boombox - This is a CD player and now I can play my CD's again. I bought this for my workout room to give a little extra energy for my workouts. The sound is pretty good though there are no tone adjustments. I read other reviews stating they wished it was louder. Yes, it could be louder but for my basement it is loud enough for my use and I do put it on full volume which doesn't distort the sound. Outside, it may not work for you unless it is close-bye. Also, when the unit is totally off and plugged in while in a quiet room you can hear a slight hum which means it is still using electricity. Though minimal I unplug it after use so no electric usage. ... show more
