I purchased this CD Player through Amazon -- Model: SBXo3oC It arrived a couple of days ago and although it plays, I had trouble figuring out how the CD Player works. The instructions leave a lot to be desired. The sound is awesome!! So I put in the time to figure out what the problem is. UPDATE: For the CD Mode: The Instruction sheet should start with this phrase "With the Power Button 'OFF' and then follow the directions on the piece of paper. OTHERWISE - if the CD Play is 'ON', you will need to cycle through AM, FM, to get to the CD player. AND the CD symbol in the window on the front to the CD Player is NOT "CD" it is two horizontal lines = like this = "-- --". Now that I figured all this out, the CD Player is easy to use. Description of how I first dealt with the instructions and what I did to create a work around for the slightly incomplete instructions. Here is my one remaining question --- The first time I used it I pressed the Function button to get past FM and AM the next time I pressed the function button two disconnected, straight, horizontal lines appeared. Since this symbol was not in the Owner's Instructions, I searched through the instructions to see what I might have missed. While doing this, the number 4 appeared in the "window" (the last track on that CD that was currently in the CD Player) - so I choose #1 and it played the first track of the CD. So is the CD function suppose to have two straight horizontal lines as the symbol for CD? NOTE: The button #10 in the instructions - the symbol was so tiny in the instruction that you sent (in several languages) that I had to get a magnifying glass (10X)to see the symbol. At this level of magnification, the symbol was barely readable. This # 10 button is a VERY IMPORTANT - after playing with the CD Player for about an hour - I discovered that IF I did not stop the CD by pressing and Holding the #10 button until the number in the "window" changed, it did not stop the CD AND the CD player stopped working as described in the directions. I very nearly returned this CD Player because the instructions are incomplete and the printing is way too small. ... show more

*I’m updating my review to 4 stars because the company reached out to me immediately and sent me a new one. It arrived today! I’m hopeful the original one was just a defective product and the new one will work correctly. Kuddos to this company for trying to remedy the situation! Does anyone know how to contact this company? I tried looking for an email or phone number and can’t find one. This CD player worked for 1 month. The return window closed yesterday and of course it broke today. It no longer turns, so the CD won’t play. This player has barely been used. We homeschool and I bought it to listen to books and music while we work. We have only been using it for a few days, since we just started back after a summer break. I hope that this company will reach out to me so that they can make this right. I assume they stand by their products and it should work longer than one month. ... show more

This is a nice little set for someone who just wants some sound in a part of their house where there is none, like maybe a baby's nursery, where you would want to play music, or maybe in your garage while you are working on something, or that patio while you are relaxing. It may be old technology to some, but it is still very useful. Unfortunately, I did have to return this, not because anything was wrong with it, but for me, I have no place for it in my life. - I bought this for my father who is 92 years old and has dementia. I bought it because I thought it would be simple enough for him to easily use. Unfortunately, for him, not so easy. He was too confused to even learn how to turn it on. He had been complaining to me that he wanted a radio so this one seemed like the easiest for him to use. And it is easy, there is no doubt about that. But unless there is someone there to help him turn it on, he is unable to do it, so using the CD player would be an even bigger challenge for him. - I don't want my review to sound negative, it is not. It's a great little radio/CD player that would be a plus for that place in your home that needs a little bit of sound. This is also supposed to be portable but we never got around to that feature...I boxed it back up when I realized how difficult this would be for him to use. ---- It has a nice modern shape, lightweight, easy to see and figure out buttons. For the majority of people, I think this would be a great solution for music. For my dad, sadly, it would never work out. ... show more

Ok, truth be known, I bought this little boom box to play for my dog while I was at work to keep my dog company. HOWEVER ,I was very surprised at the quality of sound that it produced for the money. It is much more high end looking than the cheap looking, cheezy red boom box that died and it is replacing. My only complaint is that it does not have a digital readout for the radio station as the aforementioned unit. But, in today's economy, and for the surprisingly great sound quality I got for 40 bucks, I am not going to complain. I am very glad I decided to go with the cheaper radio over the more expensive one I almost bought. ... show more

I wanted a plug in CD player and they are hard to find. This one is perfect! It also has an FM radio which is nice. It has good speakers, a handle so you can carry it to a park or other places or enjoy it in your backyard. In that case, you would have to put batteries in it.
