When I first received the cutter, it wouldn’t cut. I started a return with Amazon and then thought I really need to give the manufacturer a chance to resolve the issue. I really wasn’t taking any risk since I could still return it to Amazon if Singer didn’t provide a timely support. I contacted Singer and they were great. They did try to support troubling shooting via email, but I still couldn’t get the machine to cut. Singer immediately said they would provide me a new machine and sent me a UPS shipping label. As soon as they received notice that I shipped the machine to them, they started the process of sending me a new machine. I received the machine two weeks after I sent mine. This is over the Christmas holidays, so two weeks was expected. Their customer support kept me updated during the entire process via email. The replaced machine works great and will be a great timesaver when cutting out fabric for bags. I just love the machine and glad I made the effort to contact Singer!!! Their support was excellent!

The media could not be loaded. So I ordered hope for the best, but got the worst. It come a day earlier than expected so that's about all that was good about my experience. So starting off, the Amazon box that this came in had all its edges dinged and bent, granted this was a big box so that was given, but as I pull out the manufacturing box that the machine comes in, one side of the box was completely torn revealing the content side. I gave it the benefit that maybe the protection around the machine did its job. As soon as I pull the machine out of its box, the bottom of the machine has rubber pads and under neath thr rubber pads are screws. All the screws were loose and one even fell off. I tightened all the screws still hoping this would be fine. But as soon as I go to plug in the machine there is no power. I unplug it from behind the machine and as I try plugging back it throws out sparks. So I give up and put it all back in it's box and get it ready to return. I was very disappointed, I really wanted this machine to be the one.

The cutter is great. I love it already. I have three Cricut Makers and just everything about learning them, in the beginning, was unnecessarily difficult. The Singer Momento is much easier to learn and to use. And, the software is free, which is a bonus. The downside is the mat that was included with the cutter is terrible. It is cheap and has lost its stickiness already. It is also warped which messes with the loading and accuracy of the cut. The Singer mats are on backorder and the customer service SUCKS so I purchased some off brand mats off of Amazon. Overall, I think the machine is good for the price.

This machine really is powerful! We have been able to cut so many things for our crafting business (and pleasure). The instructions are detailed and easy to follow and understand. It was fairly simple to set up and connect to our PC. The display is clear and bright. Love it!!!

This cutter has so much promise! I love the idea of cutting fat quarters of fabric. Unfortunately, it only worked as expected for one day. On the second day it began starting all cuts about 3/4” below the top of the cutting area on the mat. Obviously, that’s a big problem because all cuts are shifted down and you cannot use the entire cutting area. Plus I am worried that at some point it will cut in the correct place, in which case I will have placed the fabric in the wrong spot. I did all that I could to resolve the problem including trying different devices to send the file, restarting my devices and the Momento, and restoring the Momento to factory settings. I then contacted Singer about this issue twice with no response. The machine will be returned to Amazon. So disappointing.

The media could not be loaded. I feel like everyone's initial impressions of this machine would be so much better if the included instruction manual were more detailed. For example, it states to 'remove all the protective packaging' however, it does not provide details or illustrations of what constitutes 'protective packaging'. I removed the foam around the blade holders but the plastic pieces under the guides looked as though they were permanent parts of the machine - they are not. You must lift a lever at the back to remove the protective plastic pieces around the guides and I did not at first see the one surrounding the blades and it was most challenging to remove without damaging the machine once the blade holders had calibrated to the far left position. Also, when using the LCD Screen function to select the material of e.g., 'Cloth 1' - there is nothing to let you name this to e.g., 'Cotton' and then to save the speed and pressure associated. In fact, there needs to be a guideline (again in the Instruction Book or something one can print out and reference) of suggested speed and pressure for various materials. I just kept increasing pressure and trying a cut until the rotary blade finally cut through the cotton material. Using the LCD Screen for preset designs, I could not see how to cut multiples of one item - other than to 'fill the mat'. I could not e.g., select to cut 6 of 2-1/2" squares. Also, note the default measurement is in mm but can easily be set to inches via settings. The Sewnet application is not super intuitive - but I work with lots of tech crafting tools - and it works similarly to other cutting machine applications. Within the Sewnet application, there are default speeds and pressures for various materials and one can save material names/favorites. This is marketed to Sewers that also wish to Craft - yet the default blade is the craft blade, not the rotary cutter and the first project suggested is to cut vinyl - not fabric. I understand that this is for both fabric and paper (vinyl, etc.) crafters, but with the Singer Name, I would expect more deference to the Fabric Users that are loyal to Singer. Overall, I was able to set up the machine, connect to wifi and cut a pre-defined shape in about 30 minutes. I spent another 30 minutes downloading Sewnet and linking it to my machine and familiarizing myself with the software. Most of this went smoothly. I definitely like the large 24" size. Later, I came back into Sewnet and created a simple pattern of 3 squares and 2 large flowers, adjusted the pressure (default pressure did not completely cut the cotton material), named and saved my pattern to favorites, sent it to my machine and it cut it out flawlessly. The more I experiment with this machine, the better I like it! I'm certain that over time, YouTube crafters (not just the ones released by the company) and various Crafting Boards will provide additional tips/tricks and suggestions on how to use this new tech machine. This review represents my initial experience and I will update as I spend more time creating. It is a very professional looking machine and I'm certain that I'll enjoy it even more after I become more familiar with both the machine and the software.
