I purchased 2 of these to make a shelving unit 3 wide (you can place shelves wherever you'd like). There are 5 shelves per unit. I did 4 left, 4 right, and 5 middle, to make a 9' wide unit. These assemble somewhat easy, but I wish they were a little more controlled. You push down on the shelves until they "pop" into place. This may, or may not move the plastic pieces you push down over, so you may have to mess with these a little bit to get them to align correctly. I really wouldn't feel comfortable placing 100 lbs. on a shelf, let alone the 350 lbs. they state you can place. I'm going to rig up some type of straps to brace this to the wall, so I don't need to be concerned about it falling over. This is not the sturdiest of shelves, but for the money, it does the job! ... show more

I couldn't find a 36" shelf stand locally. Everything was 48" and chrome. I was happy to find this, and it fits the space perfectly.

    • Difficult to assemble and shelves only work upside down.

This was difficult to assemble. I enlisted my trusty DIY husband and even he had trouble. The shelves only work with the rim edge down. Things can just slide off. I had shopped around a lot and thought this rack had shelves workable up or down, but I was wrong. I need to work on wording my questions better before buying stuff. My hubs had this put together in around an hour. I purchased it for a plant rack for orchids so nothing heavy will be on it, and I think it will do, but not heavy items- the plastic holding up the shelves does not look too reliable. Directions were all pictures, so that was a negative coming from my hubs. A rubber mallet came in very handy to bang the plastic pieces into place (manufacturer suggested it...). It was packaged very well and shipped just fine- no dents or missing pieces. End note: If it were left to me to assemble this on my own I'd be crying in a corner right now... ... show more

The rack is very sturdy but it is not easy to put together if u don’t have the claps right it will fall foen and u basically need 2ppl to assemble it
