This really is a great starter drone. I didn't know what to expect, and right out of the package I was hooked!! Having never flown a drone before I didn't quite know what to expect. Instructions were easy to understand and helped me to get started. Only had difficulty with the blade guards instructions, but they were easy enough to figure out. The slower speed is quick enough. I only have tried it in doors, but the flying stability was solid and I was able to test it out in a small room. Excited to test it outside. It has replacement blades, and 2 rechargeable batteries. The remote does require 3 small aaa batteries that aren't included. The app works good on the android that I have as well. I recorded photo and video. It wasn't the sharpest video and pictures, but I'm sure it will be better in daylight. It will be a lot of fun to play with more. I'm excited to try the trajectory flying. For the price this is a great! I do wish it had a case to keep it in when not in use. I suppose the box will work fine. ... show more

This drone is fun and easy to use. I first used it just with the provided remote. It is easy to control, lands with the push of a single button to get out of trouble when first learning how to fly it, and will also do loops with the push of another button. The remote itself is easy to use -- one joystick controls forward/backward motion and the other altitude. There is a speed control button to slow things down -- useful when learning or taking video/pictures. The two included batteries charge quickly and allow near continuous usage. The remote has a separate attachment for a cellphone, which provides real-time view from the camera. The blade protectors -- black extensions that clip under the control arms -- have a trick to installing them. They have to be positioned just right for the wrap around to clip in place. It also comes with an extra set of rotors. This drone is very light weight and sturdy. On my third flight, I drove too close to the Christmas tree and thought I'd broken it. Nope -- no damage at all, except to my pride. One of the above photos has an Apple TV remote as a reference for size -- the remote and drone are both small. Given the size of the drone, it produces a lot of wind all around it and is itself susceptible to gusts. I wouldn't take it out in a strong wind, but on mild days, it is a blast to fly around. ... show more

I am a first-time drone player. Assembling the propeller protectors and setting up the app was a breeze. I then tried the one-click take-off/landing feature from the remote controller (and later from the app) and was amazed by how it took off vertically right away and hovered while emitting a low buzzing sound (fun!). The video quality on my phone looked quite good. Exploring more advanced controls seemed a bit overwhelming at first, but I was really impressed by its well-designed protection. I by accident managed to fly it under my tea table and collided with it, but it stopped without any damage. Once I took it out and started again, it continued as if nothing had happened. I had it hit the wall or sofa, or perform an emergency landing and crash about 5 or 6 times, but it still seemed intact and performed well. I plan to find a bigger empty space or outdoor grassland to practice more with my kids so that I can take some ‘bird view’ Christmas photos and videos for the family indoors and outdoors. Overall, I think this is a very nicely built, high-quality drone and I highly recommend it! ... show more

First of all, just be mindful that this is a low cost drone for indoor use only (as clearly stated in its manual). Having said that, and being a user of more expensive drones (DJI and AUTEL) I found this drone lovely to play with inside the house. It's a great value drone for practicing and teaching beginners to flight drones without breaking the bank or being afraid of crashing a very expensive drone. Its controls and functionality are similar to those more expensive drones. It comes with two batteries, and you'll need three AAA batteries for the controller. The phone app is a breeze to link and the video quality of its camera is acceptable. I've noticed the drone has a snappier response if you're not streaming and recording video. Not sure why, because the control does not use WiFi for communication, just my experience while testing the drone. Construction is good but delicate. I expect that it wouldn't survive a hard crash from high altitude, but I haven't had one yet. It comes with propeller protectors and a set of spare propellers in case of an accident. I bought this as a white elephant gift at work. I opened the box to check out the drone and change the batteries. The design, made to look like a smaller version of the DJI Mavic, is appealing and decently finished. The two included batteries click into the body similarly to its larger counterpart. I may update after gifting and seeing some flight but I've expectation of 7-10 minute flight from the 1000mAh pack and decent image from the fixed "gimbal" camera. ... show more

This is a somewhat joint review. I purchased the X300C and X800 to add to my Simrex drone collection. I have some other models (older) and wanted to try the newer ones. The X300C is the mini one (left) and the X800 is the larger one (right) in the attached photo. Normal fork for size comparison. The features on this drone are pretty advanced when you consider the price. The one key take off/land is a nice feature to have. I'm sure you can fly this around the house if you're good, but I would recommend starting outside because unless you're using the mini one, these can easily go quick. Wide-open spaces, no trees, away from the house, etc - general rules. Once you practice you can use this anywhere. The upgraded camera is a nice perk compared the the X300C. Build quality is about the same, using a lightweight plastic build but feels like it will withstand some crashes no problem. Overall, for the price, you can't beat the features included on these drones. I'm not seeing replacement parts yet here on Amazon, but Simrex usually keeps a good supply of parts available should you need them (something other brands don't usually do). ... show more
