I was looking for something I could put my 14" laptop under the monitor. This worked perfectly. When I looked at the picture I thought I'd be able to use it without the side holders, but they are the legs, so dont be surprised like I was. They aren't very deep and have dividers so they are pretty much only good for small items like paper clips. The drawer was too small for the laptop but makes a nice extra place to put paper. The laptop fits easy under the drawer. The platform the monitor sits on is pretty sturdy.

This stand was quite the breeze to put together. slide the leg stands into each end and tighten down a couple small (and they are small, at least for my fingers) set screws. I tightened them down with the screw-driver blade on my little Victorinox Swiss Army Knife. ( another dandy little item no keychain should be without ) It turned out that it was just a bit to high for my monitor because of my bi-focals, but it works very nicely under my laptop and the slide out shelf and small baskets on the end helped clear some of the clutter on my desk and I can see where everything is.. It's very sturdy and stable , nicely finished, ( at least the black one I bought ) and so long as you're not jumping up and down or using it as a stepstool it should last a long time. The only reason I gave less than 5 stars were the screws, they really did require a bit of fumbling about because they're difficult to grasp and the pilot holes, understandably, are small as well and a little rough, just enough so it took a couple tries to get each one set. I'm probably just being overcritical because it wouldn't stop me from buying another one if I needed. Came quickly, was well packaged, and, if you're the type that has troubles with four piece puzzles, it has directions as well.

It took me quite a while to pick out that I wanted in a monitor stand. I knew I wanted one, and I knew it had to be sturdy. I have an older ACER Gaming Monitor, and the sucker is pretty heavy. I wanted something that could fit my giant Razer Cynosa Pro keyboard. And would have space to plop my Xbox One controller on. (Please don’t think I’m bragging, I just want you to know the dimensions I was working with.) at first I had been looking at a Bamboo stand. But then I thought about it more. Wood gets dirty easily, can warp, splinter, and if it’s not make correctly, it can be weak. So I started shopping around. I then saw another stand with a drawer, and figured how much of a boon that could be. So I put that into my demands. Finally I came across this one. It’s made of sturdy metal, has a nice powder coat finish which won’t show fingerprints, the top has a pattern of holes for breatheability, and he sides and drawers are great for storage. It’s easy to put together, you put the legs in, and they have one screw hole for each one. The screws are standard Phillips-Head. They’re also black. And they’re a good size. I am very happy with my purchase, and I would recommend this to anyone who wants a monitor stand, but doesn’t want to sell out $40+

The monitor stand is large enough to allow me to put my speakers on the stand as well as other items like my glasses, stapler, or tape dispenser. The bins on the sides are great for pencils, pens, erasers, business cards, TV remotes, etc. The tray below the stand makes a perfect place for papers I use often or ones I don't want my cats to nibble on or walk over. And there is also now space below the drawer for items. One of the major reasons that I purchased the stand was to allow me to tie down the monitor. You can see in the picture the black zip ties that go around the base of the monitor. My cats think the monitor is a great item to stretch their paws up against or rub their faces against. The monitor is like most of the modern ones in that it is very light. One day I walked in and found the monitor on the floor. It is now too heavy for the cats to push over. I bought the stand to keep the monitor on the desk but it has turned out to be helpful in so many other ways.
