    • This book is exactly what someone new to serging needs
I am brand new to serging. This book is easy to learn from. Even if you do not make any of the projects included in the book, you get to learn what different serger stitches can be used for and what they look like. Some of the projects help you to apply serger techniques to a regular pattern.

The book is attractive, with slick pages and large color photos. The instructions MOSTLY seem easy to follow, though I agree they are a little intimidating for a beginner (me). There are eight baby items, fifteen adult garment items, ten home decor items, and eleven "gifts," which are a mix of totes and more home decor items. Most seem appealing and none seem "outlandish." I was disappointed that most of the adult garments begin with a purchased pattern, and the book tells how to make the garment a little flashier with your serger--but other readers might prefer this approach. A few begin with a t-shirt, sweatshirt, or man's shirt, and add style to them; two begin with "just fabric" and produce a new garment. ... show more

I found this book at the library and decided it had enough projects and ingo in it to be a good addition to my other sewing books. It arrived on time and is in great shape.

    • Lots of serging projects...
In "Simple Serger Sewing" I found the instruction and tips easy to understand. I found that most of the projects are a little intimidating for a novice like myself since I had never serged before. It will be on my library shelf for awhile until I get a little more comfortable with my serger. In my opinion, to get the best value out of this book, you would have to be intermediate or advance.
